From a trip this past February to visit family there. One of the more laid back tourist towns in California...as opposed to frenetic Beverly Hills. The streets of Carmel house many exclusive boutiques, shops and terrific restaurants
that try to replicate an "old world" charm. Carmel is located on the beautiful central California coast peninsula of Monterey and is home to one of the earliest California Missions. Lots to see and enjoy here.

I was taking these photos while walking a rambunctious Boston Terrier and photographing with one hand.

My wife and I visited there a couple of weeks ago. I think that your pictures capture the flavor of the town brilliantly. We ate lunch at the Cypress Inn which was once owned by Doris Day. Going inside is a travel back in time. We bought the best Monterey Jack cheese we've ever eaten at The Cheese Shop in Carmel Plaza. Of course, we visited many other shops.

Nice series. If the guy in #6 would get a haircut, he would be my twin. Long haired hippie!

Fun times just strolling, looking and taking in the sights...good to hear you were there, therwol!! We've dined at the Cyprus Inn in the past, excellent...we seem to gravitate to the Porta Bella for dinner as we eat outside and our pooch can be with us. Have never tried the Cheese Shop and will look for it next year while there. Thanks for stopping by and commenting...enjoyed your comments!!

Thank you M1911 (that is a popular style side-arm)...I told that bugger in #6 to put his hat back on or cut his hair...it was inappropriate for Carmel!!
