From a trip this past February to visit family there. One of the more laid back tourist towns in California...as opposed to frenetic Beverly Hills. The streets of Carmel house many exclusive boutiques, shops and terrific restaurants
that try to replicate an "old world" charm. Carmel is located on the beautiful central California coast peninsula of Monterey and is home to one of the earliest California Missions. Lots to see and enjoy here.

Hey Fred, yes he was, for a couple of terms I believe. I've enjoyed a few "swills" at his saloon, Hogs Breath, on a few occasions while we're visiting there!!
