I bought a Steelcase Gesture office chair about a year ago and it is very comfortable with good lumbar support but pricey. Definitely try out a chair first - I am 6’2” and 200+ so my chair might not be your favorite.

I agree with the Steelcase chair. I have a Leap, but I unfortunately, purchased a refurbished and after 1 year it is falling apart. The Leap is ~$1,700.

Anything that walks on two legs including me knows all about lower back issues -- Feel for you
Mine is made by Herman Miller -- Have had it for at least 10 years -- GREAT!!!
The chair is wonderful

Herman Miller is the way to go. Not cheap though. A lot of beautiful looking chairs on the net are in reality garbage made overseas that will fall apart in a matter of months, and some of them are not cheap either.
Spend wisely, your back will thank you.

Racmanaz you're seeking medical advice for an orthopedic device on UHH?
What you seem to be sharing in your initial post is that you're currently experiencing lower back pain that may likely warrant diagnoses and/or treatment by a medical professional.

Oft said those who treat themselves have a fool for a doctor.
Racmanaz pain is a messenger... best to determine actual the source of the aforementioned.

In our sedentary society lower back pain is at an ever increasing malady.
Need a quick fix! Go vertical, like now! Not later... Unload your compressed spinal discs to allow them time to heal.
Otherwise you may become a Poster Child for Repetitive Stress Injury...

Caveat: I'm not licensed to practice medicine your jurisdiction i.e. Anywhere away from Lunatic Lefties?
Please seek guidance from licensed provider for the aforementioned.

That said I've have practiced Hatha Yoga for many decades under the "Tutorage" of highly qualified instructors.
Under their skillful guidance I've found that the Camel Pose: Ustrasana combined with the Wheel Pose: Urdhva Dhanurasana may assist in unloading spinal disc...

This has worked well over the years for my lower back a.k.a. Lumbar Spine...
Albeit your results may not mirror mine Racmanaz.

Wishing you good health "moving" forward.
With the emphasis on the word (moving....)
i.e. up and out of the chair Racmanaz

Oh, the price of a quality Yoga mat? ~ $20 to $40
They come in a wide variety of colors, they are machine washable, and can be recycled.

A Different Thought: I got to a point where the pain in my back, neck, and shoulders was unbearable while sitting at my desk day after day. We hired an Ergonomist to help set up my workspace with a new chair, footrest, change of screen position, and instructions on a series of exercises that I should do throughout the day. I even went to an orthopedic specialist for x-rays, MRI, and consultation.

All in all, it helped a little, but not that much. What I found out on my own was that I needed glasses with a focal length and multi-focal areas specifically designed for viewing the computer monitor. My regular trifocal glasses were not best suited for computer work for the bands of focus caused me stress with the way that I had to view the screen.

WOW...within a week, all of the symptoms had gone and I lived happily ever after..!

Secretlab gets excellent reviews if you don’t mind a gaming chair look. About $500
