In 1975, President Ford was left to manage the difficult ending of the Vietnam War. President Ford went to Congress for a relief package to allow American personnel and our allies to evacuate. However, there was ONE USSENATOR who opposed any such support. The result was the embarrassing and hurried evacuation from the roof of the American embassy in Saigon
This senator reveled in the embarrassment and did everything he could to leverage it politically against Ford. Despite the efforts of this U.S. Senator–President Ford managed to rescue 1,500 South Vietnamese allies prior to the country’s fall. Had President Ford not acted quickly, these people would have been targeted and slaughtered for their support for America . When they arrived in America , President Ford asked Congress for a package to assist these refugees to integrate into American society.
That SAME troublesome SENATOR TORPEDOED ANY SUPPORT for these shell shocked, anti-communist, Americans and our helpers, the refugees.
Instead, President Ford had to recruit Christian organizations to offer assistance on a voluntary basis. As he did so, the Senator belittled those efforts. What kind of person would oppose President Ford’s tireless work to do the right and humanitarian thing? Who would want to play politics with the well-being of innocent people who stood by America in the tragic Vietnam War?

Sounds like history repeats itself, but the deniers and diverters on here will probably quibble in order to distract from the thrust of the message.

There is no other side, the public record is clear that Biden did exactly that. Then he repeated the same errors only worse when evacuating people from Afghanistan.

As I have said before, Biden is a POS. He should be impeached for not securing the southern border and
not bringing us back to energy independence. The US should not have to beg countries that hate
us for oil and gas because of a gang of Marsists control the President.

Of course this is true. It is recorded in the Congressional record and the history books. I have heard it before and so has the main stream media. But they have no journalistic integrity to point out hypocrisy and evil among Democrats.

um... Not quite.
On the first bill, Biden was one of many senators who opposed the bill (it failed), because it was poorly written, and would have allowed the Vietnamese government to redirect the funds from the refugees to the military.
On the second bill, Biden did not vote.
So, as typical, a Republican, finding nothing truthful about democrats they can complain about, has to make something up,

It IS a matter of public record; and indicates Biden has not changed tactics since then, nor evidently learned from past poor decisions and is apparently doomed to repeat the same failures.

Oh, so Biden's reason is the bill, "wouldn't have allowed the Vietnamese government to redirect the funds from the refugees to the military".
So Biden was always so concerned about not funding the other sides military that he figured in Afghanistan it's better to just leave $80 Billion in actual military equipment behind for your enemy to pick up.
And continuing on the topic of withdrawal, there are still hundreds of Americans and allies left behind and languishing under the Taliban thanks to the worst retreat in US history.
