I too am a jtoolman subscriber - lots of really good info, instructions, videos, etc. My Epson R1900 (pigment ink) finally died after years of service and I recently bought the Epson XP-15000 printer (die ink, 13x19" capable) for $359. I am impressed with the quality from only six ink cartridges. Prints are more brilliant than the R1900 and colors/detail at least as good or better.
BTW, any prints I make for posterity or sale, I spray with a protective/sealing coating with Moab Desert Varnish spray can, avoids long term fading for both pigment and die ink. Easy to apply, dries fast.
Wow the pro 200 shows $599

Price of 300 is $899.00
Don't know if I have wall space for all that cash. lol
I like them mounted on double thickness mount board which I can't do.
The 200 was $599.00. Canon has no clue to when there are coming in stock. Supply line issues.
I just got an unused 300 from eBay for $700. Keep your eyes open there and other places for deals.

Afraid of ebay and "good deals"
I'll look. Going to best buy in a few

Better ink system is debatable. It depends on what's important to you. The Pro-200 uses dye inks and the Pro-300 uses pigment inks. It is true that printers that use pigment inks are less prone to fading over time but printers that use dye inks tend to produce prints that are more "brilliant". The difference is noticeable.
Dye ink printers are also supposed to clog less often. Some say that pigment ink printers are better at B&W.
At a photography show a couple years ago, Canon was churning out both types of prints. They all looked good to me!

Posted a while ago looking for a good photo printer. Like to do 11x14 maybe 13 wide also BUT my wall hangers I usually send out.
Love to get excellent 11x14 at home.
Looking at Canon pixma pro 200. They are back ordered or out of stock. Anyone have this printer that can give a review? Saw it for $600 which I can do. The cost of ink is high but I can deal with it.
Any other suggestions for good quality photo printer, and I prefer Canon, might be open to others but love Canon customer service.

I have the Pixma Pro 9000 MarkII & love it. Not sure what the current price might be but have had mine for about 15 yrs. Still works great. As others have mentioned, Ink Farm or Ink Owl have compatible inks for wy less $$ than OEM Canon inks.

I have a Canon Pixma pro 9000MK2 that refuses to give up. I also have a Canon Pixma 100. another Canon that never quits. Sometimes they may sit for several months without being used. I run the quick cleaning program and back in business. The only negative is the ink is expensive. I have not found any aftermarket ink that worked very well. I stand by Canon printers.
Probably the best in the business if you don’t print on a steady basis.
Check craigslist. I am getting a Pro-1 (Canon) tomorrow for $150.

I replaced my Canon Pro-100 when in finally died on me after 10years and purchased the Pro-200. I thought the Pro-100 was wonderful, but the Pro-200 is so much better. The ink cartridges are a bit smaller and cost about $20 some odd dollars less for the 8 pack. Printer is quieter. Setting it up is a little confusing. I think you'll love the outcome of your prints which will go up to 13X19.
Was at best buy today and Canon products are backordered. He liked the Epison ink tank printers. Don't know photo quality but if it's close I might go the cheaper ink route. Most time 8.5x11 paper to hand to friends and they're happy. Anything for my walls goes to a pro lab and mat board. Models in best buy today were
Epison. 2760,3760,4760.
All had ink tanks. Ink is so expensive so if these are close to Canon I might do that.
Bigger the better if you can go the freight. Love my Epson 4800 but it's getting close to the end of it's life. Ink, good topic for debate, OEM or remanufactured. Using some second life cartridges and am having good luck with them. Why did I go to remanufactured? Can't get OEM's for my Epson 2880 which is a fabulous printer. Considering a Canon P9000 but I work off a roll and I don't think Canon does. RSVP...Cheers.
I want to look into Canon tank printers now also. I'm reexamine my printer needs. I'm not selling or planning too. Mostly forfamily and friends
I might let the cost of ink over rule the slight loss in quality
I have a Pixma Pro 10 it uses pigment ink, 9 inks and a clear coat. It can print on 13" x 19" paper, maximum width 14".
It lists for $700 but can usually be found on sale for about 50% off.
I'm looking at the size of the printers that can print 13 wide and they are BIG
