The small Sumac tree/bush has small berries known as drupes. The drupes persist through the winter. Hardy birds like; Woodpeckers, Thrushes, Sparrows, and waxwings will exist on these and others without making the long and punishing trip south. The picture would be of a male Eastern Bluebird, a Thrush if you did not know. All photos were taken in Southeastern Ct. with a Canon 5D M IV and Canon 100 to 400 Il. I sincerely appreciate your comments. Thank you.
