The vaccines were never intended as a preventative for contracting the virus, you should already know that.

Anyone familiar with infectious diseases and vaccinology knew that to be true.
Unfortunately the politicians, along with certain scientists who are at least as much politician as scientist, sold the vaccines to the public as preventative rather than protective.
Their dishonesty has sown much distrust and provided fodder to those fond of peddling misinformation.

That's a lie, we were told from the beginning that the vaccines prevented one from contracting and getting infected by the coronavirus. I had this argument with a couple of members on here just a few short months ago, I was right all along. The member I was arguing with even supplied links to scientific websites that were considered reliable and respected yet were wrong anyway.

It is a preventative. A preventative with considerably less than 100% efficacy. While I'm not schooled in such things, I believe this is probably true of most vaccines of most diseases. You appear to have a lot of knowledge in such things, so this may just be a matter of terminology.

No one can be held responsible for how you interpret what you hear.

As the pandemic continues is is becomming more and more obvious that vaccines are not necessary for those under 65 or for those with no underlying conditions.. Vaccines do NOT prevent the vaccinated from contracting the disease. And even if they do, the fatality rate is extremely (below 0.5% )low. About or less than the seasonal flu

A low mortality rate is a good thing...thanks to vaccines.

Mortality rate for vaxxed people is significantly lower than for unvaxxed.

Seems like the vax has some benefits.

Vaxxed folk barely get sick, and unvaxxed folk are crowding the hospital systems.

David Martin, page 1, confused the nonreality issues by bringing in science-based statistics. How can people ignore facts that are so clear in the graphs? Well, perhaps because the vaccinated deaths are so low as to not be seen by eyes that do to want to see ... I have a neighbor who between cigarettes will argue for no vaccine and will say cigarettes are harmless.

Semantics. The public does not understand the phrase "preventative with considerably less than 100% efficacy."

The point is that the politicians were dishonest in their sales pitch.
The general public understands "prevention" as something that prevents with near 100% efficiency. Like birth control.

Yet the politicians told the public that vaccination would prevent them from getting Covid. The public did not read the fine print on the CDC website nor do they read the scientific literature.
In July Joe Biden said, as many others before him had said, "You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations."

So yes, while vaccination will prevent a good percentage of infections, they do not provide 100% protection, which is what the public understood them to do. Hence their increasing distrust.

Fauci has said we will never eradicate Covid. I am betting we will. I have just as much a chance of being right as he.

The Fauch is a weasel, but he is "Science", he said so. If he is correct, science has hit rock bottom.

Well, at least that part of science is now "settled."

An "open mind"?

That's precious!

Name ONE vaccine that is 100% effective. I'll wait.

Why is it none of you made a peep when Chump said "it will go away when warmer weather comes"?

This COVID planned-demic is designed to keep us in fear to be easily manipulated and controlled and
add to it divided or even more divided than we are and have been.
So now we have this race/group against that one conservative against liberals vaxxed against the
unvaxxed. Divide and conquer wake up everyone

I said I listened to Fauci "at the beginning" with an open mind. I had never heard of him before.

But now after seeing his work, I have drawn some conclusions. That's called an 'active' mind.
