My question is what is going on with the Webb Telescope? All sorts of things are supposed to be happening with it but no reporting that I can find even if I google it. Too bad.
It is still in the month-long deployment. This is a good timeline description.

I hear nothing lately on the TV news about what is happening in the rest off the World. We used to hear Covid statistics from everywhere. Now silence.
Only new shere is Covid and the Omicron variation quoted every 2 or 3 minutes, and only Infections hardly ever mention deaths and when they do, apparently many people catching it and only a few deaths.
Should we compare against the Flu virus. I personally would like so see the comparison figures for all deaths.
Seems to me that there is a mass hysteria, not backed up by stats

I saw somewhere that Covid infections--particularly with Omicron--were up over 200% but corresponding deaths were up only 3%. I would conclude that while Omicron is much more contagious, fortunately it is much less deadly.
Thanks. Excellent source of information.

Just had the omicron and isolated myself for 10 days I have a damaged lung and waiting for a stent to be fitted. The symptoms for are like a very heavy cold just short of flu. I have had the vaccine and the booster. My brother however who is 10 years younger and has no previous health problems and has not been vaccinated is still in hospital in IC fighting for his life. Not saying get vaccinated it's your choice. A couple of prayers for Kenny would be appreciated.
Praying right now for Kenny. May God bless him with a speedy and complete recovery!

According to the CDC.GOV website, the 2017-2018 "flu season" was the worst of the prior 10 years. During that flu season the CDC reported: Symptomatic Illnesses, 492,337 per day. Medical visits - 227,817 per day. Hospitalizations: 8,881 per day, Deaths: 671 per day of which 559 were people age 65+, I.e. only 112 deaths per day for those under 65 years of age. Hope the CDC's database helps.
This is a true story. Use your own judgment.
Around 9am Christmas Eve morning my son's mother-in-law went to urgent care because she did not feel well and thought she might have a UTI. Urgent care was short staffed in the lab so they sent her to Butler Hospital emergency room for a blood test.
After a ten hour wait and three tests it was determined she indeed did have a UTI, but she had also suffered a mild heart attack and was severely dehydrated. She did not have covid. She was given a saline drip, a prescription, told to find a cardiologist and sent home. The morning after Christmas she told her husband she was too weak to make it to the car and he better call an ambulance.
She was admitted to the Butler hospital and placed in intensive care. The UTI was still there, the dehydration was worse, she had developed pneumonia, they found two blood clots. The following day she tested positive for Covid. Twenty four hours after that she was dead. No mention of the heart attack, the blood clots, the dehydration or the UTI. FEMA (or some government agency) will pay for her funeral because she died of Covid.
She was a dear sweet lady and deserved better than dying alone without seeing or speaking to a single family member.
I cannot imagine what it must be like working in a hospital today, especially a critical care unit, given the pandemic. I was listening to a doctor today in the clinic I was in who seemed exhausted. He said he has not had a day off in almost two years. It seems like a very ripe environment for error, and that is not me suggesting your friend was misdiagnosed since I have only the story you shared.
