I looked at a number of his UHH posted images. Some interesting ideas and compositions, but a lot of not fantastic and soft executions. And why NM? Not many water falls there. Should try Hawaii. Imagine sponsored Maui Wowee.

You can say his work is not all that good but it shows that he is serious. He was not trying to pull anybody leg. Sometimes success isn't about skills but about confident and determination.

During Dec 2021, I made a trip to SC & FL at my own cost and took a number of photos. In April/May 2022, I am planning to make a trip to NM and visit Bisti Badlands, and other nature related places in-and-around ABQ.

When I visited a camera store in NJ, and asked how to get sponsors, they recommended that I post my intention on Internet and keep my fingers crossed.

I am using NIKON D7100 & D800 with Sigma Lens, Benro Mach3 tripod. No idea whom to contact for financial sponsorship.

If anyone of you already have sponsors, please guide me how to proceed, where to look for and any suitable information.

I am aware that by providing this type of information, it may hurt your bottom line, but due to time limitations, I am sure that you had to reject some of those offers as it didn't attract you enough. I am just asking leads for which you rejected or are not interested.

Thanks

I received sponsorship from Nikon, Sigma, Tepui, Symmetry Trailers, Permafrost Coolers, and a few lesser sponsors for a 2020 Photo Expedition. Unfortunately the expedition was slated to begin June 1, 2020, and on March 9th, 2020 the US/Canada border was closed due to covid. My sponsors all told me to keep the gear until 2021 and try again. Well the border finally re-opened in September 2021 but the opportunity was gone. Sponsors were gracious and I still have all donated equipment which has now been rendered less valuable as newer models have emerged. Will the expedition ever get completed? At this time it's still an unknown, and my private fuel sponsor has passed away.
I was also spo sored in 2000 to spend 5 weeks in Germany photographing castles for a book publisher there, that was a ton of fun.

All these sponsorships came about due to my decades of photo experience and successful photo sales. Inexperienced photographers with little to no history, and older gear to promote, will find such sponsorships few and far between! But I wish you luck.

Let me get this straight; you are asking folks here at the UHH to send you money so you may go to NM to take photos. Basically asking others to sponsor a vacation trip for someone else. Well heck, I've got better equipment, (D7200, D850, D500, 5D mk IV, 5DSr, 90D, Nikkor, Canon EF L, Sigma and Tamron lenses), and a fairly new AWD SUV that will make it cross country with no problem. I enjoy traveling and photography and I've been doing digital photography since 2000. Anyone who's willing to sponsor me to travel and take photos and videos, let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!

I have seen in a couple travel magazines where they have request for people to submit application/qualification/equipment and they select from a pool if applicants a winner for all expense paid adventure to their pre determined destnation.
Patreon is also a good source, but you then need to build a following.

I agree... "Get a Job" is not helpful,
Nor warranted!
Good luck to You... and hope you success.

Very strange. Could this be a misunderstanding of English?

Or a cockeyed scam. Better yet I think it is a not so subtle joke.

Hmmm, yes. After seeing some of his images I can see he was not just pulling our legs as many of us said, but it was long after I could change my earlier post. That one hour limit on the UHH is annoying. As to the term success, I am more interested in Artistic success than Monetary success of others. For me photography is a serious hobby only, yet I have studied many of the masters of photography and oil painting for the last 40 years. If you read my later comment about the location in NM you will see I am much kinder there. We are all entitled to learn and change our minds. I realized criticizing others on the UHH is the way it goes, and I am guilty too as is nearly everyone on here.

Usually something like this involves considering a reason for someone to pay you (they've got to get something out of it), and writing a grant proposal that delineates ALL the deliverables. What you are asking seems to indicate you are not at that level yet. Good luck!

I think a qualified and experienced photography might obtain sponsorship from a company with something to gain by doing so. However, I don't think you'll have much luck getting crowdfunded for your trip.

Yes I too consider photography as hobby and doing it for the fun of it. However, there are people and I think the OP is one consider it just work not so much fun. So the success is about earning money and he feel entitled to getting paid. We often think those people won't get their way but I have seen so many who did. So I just wish the OP the best of luck.

I take trips to photograph and video lots of places at my own expense. I poked the "Watch" button so that I could follow this. That's because I can't imagine someone spending money on another's photography adventure.

Maybe I can get a sponsor to buy a boat for me to shoot the scenic coast from Seattle to Anchorage.
