I wonder why there is almost no discussion and sample pictures from the new Nikon Z9. There are dozens of posts daily on Facebook.
Of the 3 photography forums I follow only 1 member got a Z9 so far. I believe production models have only been shipping since the week of Christmas. The one who got the Z9 was a member of NPS (Nikon Professional Services). I have started seeing more independent reviews on Youtube. I pre-ordered mine the day of the announcement, but am not expecting it any time soon.
Most the rich retirees here recognized they have enough top model cameras already and don't need the $5500 model too?
Or, they're stubbornly refusing to acknowledge the future is mirrorless?

Oh they are buying it just that Nikon couldn't make enough of them. They may not be a pro to have NPS membership.

Deliveries for the Z9 didn’t didn’t begin until Dec. 24.
I received the FTZ II adapter from B&H yesterday - so, some new gear is shipping.
Now I can use all of my F-mount lenses on my Z50! It will be interesting.

You do like to stir the pot don't you. Mine arrived 12/23 and I will pick it up 1/3. It will be the third (plan to have four) mirrorless bodies. Two existing Z6s and, most likely two Z9s. Anyone looking for a gently used D6 or D5? (Keeping my D850 until the lenses catch up). Happy New Year to ALL!

Chris, we can count on 1 hand the UHH members that can / will leverage this technology. A number far far lower than the amount of talk the larger community generates on these top-tier models.
My Z9 is still on order. Not sure when I will get it. I am not NPS. It will be my first mirrorless camera.
I am just glad that a company came out with a camera body that checks nearly every box and has good ergonomics. Maybe Nikon figured out how to pass the manufacturing savings from deleting the mirror box onto consumers, something the other manufacturers could aspire too.
I am wondering though, what will the Z8 be (higher resolution maybe, no integrated vertical buttons, better sensor performance)?

Hah!
I was torn between going mirrorless and getting a D850. The kicker for me was the 1 lb weight delta, so Z7 ii it is for me.
So…not rich, but pretty comfortable. Went mirrorless, but saw no value in the Z9.
And…when I found out only one of my lenses does autofocus on this steed, I sprung for a Z lens.

You really don't need to see any images, the images from the Z9 will be no better and no worse than those that are coming from the latest editions from Sony or Canon.
Most all mirrorless digital camera's produced lately can produce great sharp images, irregardless of brand.
What is more important for you are the following questions,
1. How many pre Z lenses do you currently own and will they auto focus on the new Z9? ie. Many older Nikon AF D lenses will not auto focus on the current line up of Nikon Z camera's, is the Z9 different from the Z6 and 7?
2. How well does Nikon's new Z lens adapter work with your current lenses on the Z9?
3. Can I afford the new Nikon Z9?
4. What things can the Z9 camera do that my current digital camera can not do?
I believe these questions are more important than seeing any images from the new Z9.
For Z 9 owners who want to use CFexpress cards, make sure you get Type B cards. And that means the correct card reader too, like this one:
Sony MRW-G1 CFexpress Type B/XQD Memory Card Reader
This image is fromZ9 Reference Manual page 886.

What is the difference between Type A and Type B CFexpress cards? I noticed Sony takes A whereas it looks like Nikon takes B. What is this all about?
