There are "textual trolls"... and then there are "photo trolls!"

Looks like it’s shot through the back of a hospital gown. I think it is. Weird.

This poster has mentioned a number of times that his shots are for fetish magazines.

He also uses "cute" quite often with respect to his models. I can't remember the last time I agreed with his assessment.

And the point of posting this is…???

Because it’s a neck kid woman? Maybe it is one of those form and curves things…definitely better than some posts. My only question is how do we know she’s blonde? Looks like the rug is gone so who knows🤣

This crowd is getting too tough, I would not want to post when you are so negative. The poster has done some great work. If this particular image does not suit your fancy than just do not post anything, or better yet, post a similar image done better!

An excellent idea grasshopper…but then here the folk tend to be a little less civil and a little more judgemental than seems right to me. That’s why I don’t post much…and no images…and skip a lot of the various sections.

Then there is the hate this OP crowd…I have to admit a lot of his posts don’t do much for me but I just figure c’est la vie…providing constructive comments is one thing…but ‘you suck’…which is the attitude I read into most replies to his posts…just contributes to the overall negative vibe here.

Be nice people.

Being honest is more important. If that means only nice comments get posted, then so be it. But don't dole out fake praise or put lipstick on a pig.

Comments not directed at you…just replying to your thought.

Being honest is just fine…but being a negative, condescending, jerk because an individual doesn't like the photo or the poster is not the same as honest criticism and/or suggestion…the latter can be done while still being civil and a lot of reactions to OP's images seem like "we don't like the guy so let's crap all over him" to me. OP's images continually get blasted for ugly models, crappy studios, grunge, outlets on the wall, etc…but he's making money for those shots so perhaps the grunge and inked models…a lot of whom look "rode hard and put away wet" as we used to say down in Dixie…are part of what the customer wants. In any event…I personally find most of what he posts not to my taste…but then the old scans of B&W shots from long ago by Jim (I think) aren't really to my taste either. Not picking on either Jim or OP…if something isn't for me…I just move along to the next post. I actually thought this particular image was decent…and I know that most of the folk on this forum would likely claim they're here for the 'art' or the 'form of the human body' or whatever else…but if they weren't naked or semi naked females most of us wouldn't be here…so since like most males I'm fond of lady bits let's just be honest about it.

Life's too short to be a jerk all the time…and while I'm quite capable of doing it when necessary for whatever reason it seems necessary to me…as I said being nice is just so much easier…and if criticisms are warranted then one can be nice while doing so. One might comment on the washed out cheek on her left bum or the fact she missed a few hairs when shaving (don't know if either is true without going back and looking but those might or might be valid criticism or praise) and phrasing the comment nicely but honestly isn't all that hard…as it not commenting at all. Just like CHG_CANON's frequent comments against anything that isn't FF, mirrorless, and has a log that starts with an upper case letter XC…perhaps a lot of the comments against certain posters here are either trolling or dislike for a member. Then again…maybe…just like I think most of CHG_CANON's are…perhaps the OP is just trolling and stirring up trouble like I think he is most of the time with his comments about "real photographers".

This forum is meant to help photographers. If it were my image I would want the criticism in order to help me get better. If the image isn’t good, saying that it is does not help me get better. I would like to know why the image isn’t good and what I could have done, or what you would do to make the image better. Merry Christmas everyone if you believe in Christmas if not, happy holidays.

I agree…and civil, constructive comments are appreciated by most posters. Constant belittling of any user’s posts with comments basically saying “it sucks”…aren’t civil or constructive…they’re just being a jerk. Personally…lots of LAS’s posts aren’t interesting to me…not my style…but I’m not going to denigrate them or him because of my preferences. A lot of folk like the grunge, street, abandoned building look and models with ink…and he’s making money at it so I’m not going to belittle his work. And I’m not going to try and provide constructive criticism since I don’t have my for a style that isn’t me.

OTOH…I did like this one…

This has some merit but would require a good deal of processing to render an artistic photograph. I tend to agree with John, at least a little bit.
