What was the focus setting for this picture?

I wonder if the focus of this picture was automatic or manual.

In Lightroom, the plugin Show Focus Points seems to indicate all the focus points were off. This surprised me so I wondered if the plugin did not support this file. I uploaded it to metapicz.com and if I read the report properly, auto-focus was off. Here is the link to the raw file which was too big to upload here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gyPPCkOFCwJuRAenBBrmfQs2YFvqL4Ku/view?usp=sharing I do not know if the attached jpg can answer the question.

Metapicz reports that thought the shutter speed was 1/1000, image stabilization was on. Please note that I am not asking if the picture is in focus but rather if the focus mode was set to automatic.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't see anything about focus method in the available EXIF data in the JPEG download image.

What manufacturer RAW image?

I don't currently have the ability to examine the meta data, but can tell you what I see.

Viewing the download the only thing that is in focus is the gravestone to the right and the blades of grass just in front of it.

If the AF was on, then that's where the focus point was. The depth of field is very shallow so nothing else is in focus...although the leaves on the tree behind that gravestone are close.

Sony uses the ARW designation for its RAW files. Maybe others do too.

Wasn't asking about file designation (like Canon being .CR2/.CR3), I was wondering what brand,
as in camera manufacturer since he simply stated RAW. RAW is not a file designation, it's a file type.

Here is the camera. Sony ILCE-7SM3 This is probably a European model that may have a different designation in the US.

I agree with you. This is part of a shoot in which hardly any of the subjects seem to be quite in focus.

You posted the LR export version. One of the features / limitations of Adobe is they strip the camera-specific EXIF, data that includes the camera-unique AF data. If you'd access the folder where the original resides and post / attach that file, we could provide you with the details from the camera. Until then, there is no way to know. So, if you want to know, post the original.

Please check the original post for the link on Google Cloud. The raw was 28 M which is larger than what UHH can upload. I figure that LR would remove a lot of the interesting EXIF details. I look for to your comments.

Sony Viewer shows the green box on the gravestone on image-right as the AF location.

This is what fooled me in the metapicz report:
FocusMode AF-S
AFAreaModeSetting Flexible Spot
FlexibleSpotPosition 440 218
AFPointSelected n/a
AFPointsUsed (none)
AFTracking Off

I read this to mean that though the AF-S mode was selected, it still was not used.

I appreciate you doing this. I would like to check some others. How do I download that software?

That tombstone looks like the only area in focus to me.
