I have a separate bank account with a zero balance that I use just for occasions like this. It is with the same bank as my primary account. So once the money is deposited in this account, I transfer to my primary account. But like many have said, it is not a big deal because every check has this info on it. I am probably overly caution on this. But it makes me feel better giving people an account number for an account with no money in it. And it doesn’t cost me anything except my time to make the transfer.

It probably protects them in case the equipment turns out to be stolen - you can be tracked down. If they just mailed a check to some P.O. Box that turned out to be box at a commercial mail store you could be long gone.

Bothersome, yes. But remember, every time you send a personal check to someone, you give them that same banking info--plus your name and signature. Good luck.

Hey friends, thanks for your quick response to my message, l had not realized they could only deposit into not out of my account and that every check I write no matter to who it is, they have that info!! They gave me over $60 than keh, was the reason I sold to them, thanks for your help, you always come thru! Topkat.

This is true. They can deposit into but nothing else. I wouldn’t give the info online. Call them & talk to the person who would handle the transaction. What was their reason for not mailing a check?

btw if you call mpb and ask for an alternate method of recompense they will pay you up to $500 by check more than that they insist on direct deposit into your banking account. Albeit it was a while ago when I asked them... so things may be different now.
Do you actually trust the USPS more than electronic transfer?
Stuff happens with mail also... and mpb is the one who likely gets screwed if it does...
Have you contacted your bank and asked if there is an credible risk to direct deposit into your account tkgraves?

Every check you have ever written has that info on bottom of check, left side routing # right side account #

I've sold several items to MPB before, always had to surrender the bank routing # & account #, Never had an issue... I believe for them to try & withdraw $$$ they would have to supply proof & the bank would contact you for verification.

No problem. That info is on every check you write. They can put funds in but not out.

Call your bank and ask the question to them. After all the bank doesn’t want any problems with your account.

I believe even with PayPal you have to give bank account and routing numbers to PayPal or they can't move the money on to you bank account.
