I think that we are spending too much time on this. He can do whatever makes him happy. It’s a lot of money and if the scratch bothers him then so be it. It is his choice.

If you feel YOU are spending too much time on this, simply stop posting. I realize that as a member for almost four months you feel a need to direct things.
One thing you should do is read all the replies before posting your own comments. If you had, you would know that the OP already made his decision and acted on it. What you will find after you are here a while is that, like you, many people would rather 'speak than listen'.
So, in spite of the fact that the OP has taken the necessary action, and you feel "WE' are spending too much time on this, the thread could easily go for a few more pages.
Just go with the flow, it's more fun that way.

Fair point. I do enjoy the opinions on this sight.

Well...
I am a buyer/seller of CAMERAS + other items online eBay over 23 years... with 100% positive as a SELLER which is near impossible to attain and maintain... as eBay has ALL buyers as 100% positive and Sellers are NEVER allowed to post negatives for a BUYER!
So putting this into context, MY personal experience as a SELLER / Dealer and photographer... I found they offered ME ridiculous prices for Nikon 500mm lens AND other related equipment, THEN followed UP with conscutive repeat offers, attempting to have me accept their offers, all while posting similar lenses for HIGH prices.
Based on MY personal experience as a seller and buyer, I maintain MPB is a big 800 outfit that makes a lot of money on its sellers and buyers. I prefer to deal with more equitable outfits.
Disagreeing with the HERD is NOT acceptable these days and YET I find myself in this position too OFTEN!
Particularly in the politico arena. Photography is BIG business, most follow the leader and IF ONE pro says a positive or negative comment, IT can affect MANY in their decision process.
I appreciate your perspective perhaps consider there are MANY unvoiced similar views out there... thanks
Respectively, Richard

I purchased two pieces of glass from Ebay and the experience was very good. I must admit I spent several hours looking at photos of each lens. Both came from Japan.

Take a look at their explanation for how they grade. I have purchased and sold gear from/to them several times on the past and they have more than fair. I believe that excellent can have some cosmetic flaws and excellent+ would be almost like it was new.
They want happy customers so if you are not happy return it to them

Not really constructive. Especially since the OP already posted that he is returning the camera and buying one of their 'mint' units. In the end, the buyer will be happy with their decision and the seller continues to rate high on everyone's list.
Read the post again.
"hi team -I traded up and purchased from MBP a Z6 and its grading was excellent category"
Excellent and mint are worlds apart.
Then respond to me when you read what was posted by the OP.
You have to live with it you decide. Maybe don’t buy used.

hi team -I traded up and purchased from MBP a Z6 and its grading was excellent category - unfortunately it has a small scratch from obviously being knocked just under monitor-it is probably cosmetic but it does bother me - waiting for XQD card to be delivered before testing -should I reject the camera body and ask for replacement - MPB have been advised and they have offered to make an allowance - not sure if I am being to fussy
any thoughts or advice
Not being too fussy. Excellent should not have have scratches or scuffs.

Actually, while my use of 'mint' is incorrect; your reply is off base.
My comment does not refer to his initial post but most recent where he says....'to this end I will be returning the Z6 and paying extra to have "as new" '.
While my choice of words here was in error; the intent and point are still the same. Maybe 'As New' is better than 'Mint'.
So, A1776..maybe you should take a little more time to consider what you are saying..and be constructive.
Why? Most photographers I know purchase a lot of gear used. Many of my professional friends will find better equipment for their current needs. I have only purchased few things new. I have only had one issue with all of my purchases and it was quickly resolved. I find on average I get 25% off. Some lenses I find some cosmetic issues but I have never had an issue with the actual photo. I purchased a used Canon EOS R to use for clogging for 1750.00 when they were 2195. Works as well as a new one.

MPB is a BIG TIME buy sell outfit... they attempt to buy LOW... but SELL HIGH... their descriptions are NOT always accurate... have had experience with them several times... as far as I am concerned, they are Buyer Beware outfit... they will respond and follow their policy. I prefer B&H, Adorama, KEH...they usually describe accurately, definitely DEFINE THEIR policies, so YOU will be held to the letter...
My answer IT is your choice, IF not as described, YOU decide whether the discount is worth it or not.... good luck

I love when posters throw cigarette butts in the punch bowl, but don’t offer examples (of which accusations aren’t). I’ve bought and sold to MPB on 4 occasions with complete satisfactions. On the 3 sell transactions, they offered the best offer by 5%-10% and process a walk in the park. On the 1 buy, all went smoothly and the camera and accessory was as advertised. I did call with a question after receiving the purchased item. The cus serv rep provided the clarification I sought and opened the return window in case I had concerns.
