Canon 1dx camera. HELP
Just picked one up used. Very confused how to set up camera for sports. Lots of settings.
PLEASE HELP
FIRST CAMERA IN 43 YEARS THAT I FEEL LIKE I JUST STARTED PHOTOGRAPHY. LOL
Did you get a manual with it? But then I guess there is no instruction on how to set it up for sports.

No manual
Should be available on-line at
Canon Support
Yes please download the manual and of course it wouldn't tell you how to set it up for sports. I personally don't think there should be a setup for any kind of photography. Perhaps someone else can help you.
You set it the same way you did for sports 43 years ago with a SLR.
The search box at the link above isn't exactly intuitive. The search box responds with candidate cameras if you begin by typing in: EOS
Either watch / scroll down to EOS 1DX, or use this link to the relevant page and download the 17.5MP
Instruction Manual in PDF format.
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/cameras/eos-dslr-and-mirrorless-cameras/dslr/eos-1d-x?tab=manualsThe 1D series is about as complex as you can get. Even downloading the manual is complex as the
Instruction Manual is actually a ZIP that has two formats of the manual compressed inside. Extract the larger of the two files and use that as your PDF
Instruction Manual. Then, start on page 29 - Getting Started.

Well with the D1X you can set the shutter speed and ISO much higher than you can 43 years ago with a SLR.

Regardless of any equipment speed/aperture capability limits, the
process is still the same.

They didn't have all kinds of autofocus modes 43 years ago.
