Thanks. I did a reboot and now Firefox in working.

How interesting! The original Microsoft cure-all needed in an Apple product.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I just downloaded it. Installation was quick and easy. I have been using and it does seem snappy! I was delighted when I saw that it lets me keep multiple tabs active and I can jump between tabs as I need, just like Firefox but faster.

Dave - glad that it helped. I like it a lot.

I agree! Brave is a very good alternative, and has some great background pictures.

Folks, FireFox 89.0 just installed on my iMac running MacOS 10.15.7. If you're still having trouble with earlier versions, upgrade to FireFox 89.0 and see if that fixes your problems with MacOS 11.4.

I have been using Firefox Nightly for three or four years. It is a look-ahead to a future version of Firefox. Each time you open it, it checks to see if fixes have been created since your last session and, if so, loads the newer version. You are warned when you sign up for Nightly that it is a browser-in-testing and you might expose yourself to some instability. That said, it has been very good for me, having had only a few, maybe 4 or 5 problems that affected me. The current version is 91.0a1 dated 2021-05-31, so it is a couple of releases ahead of Bill's.

Thank you for suggesting that I give Brave Browser a try. It's now my default browser. I live on an isolated house on a hill top and have very slow connection to the Internet. Watching a movie was next to impossible but now that I'm no longer being bogged by ads and such the Internet connection seems adequate. I can watch movies. My only connection to the Internet is the hot spot on my iPhone. Surprisingly, that now enough.
