This is a concise big help. Thanks for sharing Jerry. One thing I might add it to turn off VR if it is on the lens when you shoot from a tripod.

Which island are you visiting?
First week is on Oahu and then 2 weeks on the Big Island. We plan to visit Waterfalls, Botanical Gardens, Volcanos National Park and Moana Kea Visitor Center for night sky photos on Big Island. Will be visiting North Shore, Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor on Oahu. Its first trip to Hawaii for all of us. Really looking forward to it.
