I'm getting close to turning 70 and I have always loved the style of the older cars and trucks . Every now and then I get lucky to see one in the real world , and sometimes get to take photos . Thank you for taking the time out of your day to post these lovely photos of this beautiful car . very nice photos

Growing up in South Bend, Indiana I do remember seeing this car on the road.
My father and uncles worked at Studebaker and everyone in the family had one
until Studebaker closed in 1963 .

Great pictures and thanks for the memories.

I'm a big Studebaker fan. Nice shots of a car that has oodles of character, unlike the homogenous examples today.

I just remember my grandfather had a old Studebaker , can't remember the exact year . My older brother and I think it was the 50's . I remember it being a big and heavy car with an 8 cyl motor . If I remember correctly I think it was a flat head 8 cyl

I have to make a correction . I was wrong , I just remember it was a Hudson Hornet

Fascinating model name (Dictator"), considering what was going on in Europe at that time...

Gorgeous set! So glad you have the collection. Beautifully maintained and tasteful pinstriping.

Really nice car shots. Your first two do a good job of separating the car from a cluttered background. Those are always a problem with car shots. The best I could ever do is mask the background to B&W and leave the car in color.

That car looks great in silver. Wonder how much money the owner has sunk in it.

Beautiful automobile!

Studebaker had some really innovative and beautiful body designs in their history. But why would they choose to name a car “Dictator”, especially in the late 30s when some human dictators were rising to power in the world?

Studebaker started out building wagons and carriages in the 1800's . Early cars were unique and had style. By the 1960's Studebaker lost their edge and started it decline.

Yes, I was at the Studebaker Museum about four years ago, great cars & exhibits. However, everything is roped off & under artificial lighting. I'll take natural light every time, that and a nice setting and the ability to get close make for some good photos.

Have you ever been to Auburn, IN to the Auburn/Cord/Deusenberg museum? I know - artificial light - but full of million dollar cars I was breathless for three hours Then in Shipshewanna, IN there is the Packard or Hudson (I forget, 10 years ago) that is also an amazing experience. FYI

Automobiles were works of art in their day.
