Yes, there is precedent, of course not in the constitution but rather by the courts. Reading the contemporary writings at or near the writing of the constitution one could make a clear argument that there should be no restrictions. Why is it that liberals refuse the amendment process?

I don’t. I’d like the Heller opinion codified.
The Court clarified an individual’s right to have a handgun in the home for self-defense, but denied that the Second Amendment provides an unlimited license to bring weapons into all corners of American society. In fact, Justice Scalia explicitly noted that the Second Amendment is “not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.”

Legislatures are not doing their jobs at both the federal and state levels. Most notably MCConnell, but Reid before him, assembled way too much power that negates the work of the remaining members. McConnell’s actions are making the case for liberals to end the filibuster. Heck, if conservatives can change course on how/when SCOTUS appointments are to be made when they’re in charge, liberals are going to advance their agenda by changing rules also. Too many things have perverted the process as they should be. It’s all about “winning” however they deem to define it.

OK, I trusted the cheap useless spell check program someone probably paid admin to use. I shouldn't have, but copying every post into word and then copying it back is quite tedious. You are right, but I generally only say something about someone's spelling if the UHH spellchecker points it out. Still, an error on my part, but no disrespect intended towards my audience.

It is a good word Thom, that is why spell checker did not catch it, look it up and maybe you could possibly consider it correct.

Something for you all guns lovers to think about. The president can use the interstate commerce laws to ban firearms, parts for firearms, ammo to be shipped between states. He can also suspend all FFL licensed at any time. Forget using the 2th Amendment to stop him.

How should they be labeled? Maybe language in the banning document will need to be very specific.

“If it looks like a duck . . . KILL IT!”

There was really only one “Assault Weapon”, the WW II German developed low-power-cartridge, select-fire, short rifle.

The current iteration of the Civilian (non-military) appearing variant (AR16) of a Military Selective fire-control rifle (M16/M4) IS NOT AN ASSAULT RIFLE! Never was. Never will be.

Those misguided persons who have ‘signed-on’ to the continued characterization of a rifle as an “evil assault weapon” based upon its physical resemblance to a military-issued weapon are: 1. Uninformed, 2. Deluded into thinking something is what it is not, and 3. Have very little regard for the legal processes guaranteed by the Constitution and restriction placed on government actions by the Amendments.

Do you have an answer as to how they should be labeled?

When I googled it, it switched it to Christian. Either way, UHH supplies the very worst spell check I have ever encountered. I'm not really embarrassed by my error, but if I do it again, I will be. One might expect that the UHH spell check would be better when it comes to photographic terms, but it isn't.
Lousy as the UHH spell check may be, it was my mistake.

I always stay out of right to discussion but have always wanted one question answered by the right to life side.

If life begins at conception and new life is totally innocent why is there always an exception carved out for rape or incest?

That always seemed rather hypocritical.

Better to look at the bible than the law makers.

There is something in the bible for everyone. In fact everyone seems to see what they want in it.

To all you folks that want to ban abortions based upon their religious beliefs. That's one of the great things about this country. You can worship and believe any deity you like but you can't force me to comply with your religion. If you do, you'd be violating the very concept of Freedom of Religion.
Tell you what: Take care of your own lives and when they're perfect, give me a call.

" You can worship and believe any deity you like but you can't force me to comply"---- Hey remember Land of the free home of the brave and all that, Christians came here to be free, not to force anyone but to be free of religious force.

Maybe you can explain why "right to life" booths almost always have anti birth control literature. I would think more birth control would cut down on abortions more than any other single thing. I think most "right to lifers" are mostly about controlling others lives.

Why don't you ask those in the booth? Straight from the horse's mouth.

OK a more serious answer to the "controlling others lives" part of your post.
Christians believe all lives are precious and killing is a sin. I can't speak for those people in the booths but if you came to me and said you were to have an abortion, I as a christian would try and reason with you to not do so and plan an adoption. There is no force.

Funny how lefty's say "follow the science" until it goes against them

I think there is plenty of evidence with ultrasounds and the like to show that, thats a baby in there. You might still want to kill it but remember, someday you will have to stand before God and he won't accept your "no one told me" argument.
