I've always like toothpicks, not just for my teeth but also for things around the house. I bought a box of 1,000 bamboo toothpicks from Amazon a while ago, and they're awful. The problem is that they break very easily - way too easily. I've gotten pieces stuck in my teeth, and I had to use another one to pry them out.

The next time I order toothpicks, I'll get real wood.

I read just this past week that toothpicks can be used as a weapon. If you use the cans of aerosol or compressed air used to clean keyboards that has a plastic tube attached to reach specific areas you can insert a toothpick in the little tube and the compressed air will make a weaponized projectile of it. I still think there are better weapons but who knows!

I have a chainsaw. I have an axe. I have a knife and a dead tree by my house. If you cut down the tree, you can have a life time of toothpicks. I think it’s a good deal!

I have these floss/toothpicks that are plastic. Much easier to get back to the molars. That's where I need them most.

Jerry, I'm just wondering.........

If you discovered that the toothpicks were defective and got one stuck in your teeth.
Why in the world would you use another of the same to try and fix it?

Way back I read that toothpicks are made from Birch logs because the wood does not splinter. Not having ever being in toothpick production, I can't confirm that. (I don't use many toothpicks, so my early whittling efforts did not produce anything I made use of).

I do have a thought. After you buy a box of toothpicks, find a bottle of liquor. I prefer whiskey but rum or gin will work fine. Just soak the toothpicks in the booze and enjoy the toothpick. Keep away from children and fire. If somebody needs to get the toothpick out of you mouth they will need a pair of pliers!!

I can seriously agree. It is sad that everyone must be on their guard at all times every where. I’m afraid as we get deeper into the pandemic, more scams will pop up on the internet too.

Who needs to buy toothpicks when one has a knife and a twig? Back to basics folks.

Ever had a screw come out of a screw hole because the hole is stripped out, especially a piece of wood. Stick a toothpick or two in the hole and put the screw back in. It will tighten and I have some that have held for over a decade.

I'm very partial to the little plastic ones that come with my little Swiss Army knife. The only problem is that I frequently lose the knife or the tooth pick and have to reorder thru Amazon.
