I think CHG Canon has got correct the R5 is far the best mirrored camera, next it is rumoured that Canon will bring out a 90 megapixel mirrored camera as the man said as long as as camera has the letters CANON on the front you cannot go wrong.

In photography there are only four letters to keep in mind for award winning photographs, S O N Y .

Why does this need to be a pissing contest. Each manufactuer has their good points and their bad points. Those who can't compete usually go out of business or resolve those lines. Sony was the first out of the gate with serious FF mirrorless. They made great cameras but for me they felt terrible to hold in my hand and I went back to my older Canon DSLR. I eventually purchased the R6 and adapted EF lenses I already owned. I have rented a couple of RF lenses and they by far IMO are the best glass on the market currently.
So instead on pissing on each others parade, everyones opinion is valid
There are so many brands because there are things that their customers like

When you think all the brands are the same, you own the wrong brand.

If you chase the best system every time a new camera is introduced, you will be one broke photographer. No doubt, Sony was tops in mirrorless for many years. Canon might now offer the best mirrorless camera. I shoot Nikon's Z system because I love the new Z lenses. Every manufacturer is producing great cameras in this age of constantly improving technology. Even the more affordable Z lenses are amazing!

I didn't say all brands are the same. There are so many camera brands just like there are so many automotive companies. Everyone has their own tastes. It doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong. We are free to like something or dislike others. I am thankful that there are multiple companies competing. Can you imagine what it would be like if there wasn't any competition? Why would s company innovate as quickly as they are now?

Agreed, boy you make sense today. And, like you say, as long as it's Sony, you can't go wrong. Cause your always sayin mirrorless is the way to go. And, the only way to go mirrorless, is Sony.

I think billion is slightly biased in his adoration of Sony, by far the best mirrored camera now is the Canon R5 and the Canon R6. The best DSLR is the Canon 1DX mark 3 Canon lenses are the best that money can buy and Sony is a long way behind. In fact the medium format Fuji gear is far better than Sony
The sad thing is that Nikon seem to be trailing behind whether their a cameras will give them any impetus I do not know but using Sony sensors might almost be a fatal error for Nikon

The very best mirrorless camera to date is the Sony a9 and a9II, and if you post one of YOUR (John Hicks only)
images taken with the Canon R5 or R6 I will post one of Mine taken with my Sony a9. Let the talking heads print some proof of YOUR Canon R5 or R6. You afraid, you should be. And this applies to john Hicks only, I am interested in no one else's R5 and R6 posts, only this guy who talking head interests me.
And you, John Hicks, seem to be as equally biased toward your adoration of Canon.
I am also betting YOU, John Hicks, don't even own the Canon R5 or R6, your just a talking head without proof.

I do not own a Canon R5 or R6 I have a Canon M 50 and use ef and efs lenses on it, my other cameras are two digital blade and various lenses, my photographs would not interest you,, and if you look at the reviews and look at the most selling and rental lists the Canons are weigh in front.
I still say you are a Sony can boy and have never tried the R 5 and R 6
One last thing I am a professional TV camera man often filming cricket test matches.
If you prefer Sony cameras that is your choice but before you berate me the cameras I use for 250,000 to 300,000 pounds so I think I am fairly good at what I do

Perhaps I was wrong to say bill Nikon was a Sony can. If he enjoys using Sony gear then good luck to him, but the cameras and lenses I use professionally the lenses have forty or more elements in them and I could never afford to buy them for my own use
