Micro SD cards with adapter verses full sized SD cards

I don't remember where precisely, but I've read recently that the use of micro SD cards with the adapter are not recommended by several camera manufacturers as well as photographers and have to wonder why. I guess they do have a second set of contacts that could cause issues, but I've used them almost exclusively for years now and have not had any real issues. In fact, the one SD failure I did have was on a full sized card and I think that I may have caused it by accidentally turning off the camera while it as writing to the card.
In any case, I would be very interested in hearing of any problems others have encountered with the use of the micro cards with adapter in any sort of photographic endeavor. Thanks for your input in advance and good luck and good shooting to all.

I have three micros in adapters, I've never had a problem.
I'll continue to use them.
(I even have three smaller memory sticks in adapters for my old Sony bridge camera.)
I am not concerned at all.

I have a hard enough time finding my sd cards...those micro sd's are just too tiny...and then you have to fool with the adapters. I do have both...no choice but the micros in drones and tablets.

Each of my micros has its own adapter, no foolin' around.

I like sliding the micro in and out of it's adapter in the camera card slot, as opposed to popping a card in and out of the card slot each time....my thought is much less wear and tear on the actual camera card slot/connections. No scientific proof of less wear and tear, just gut feel.

I have been using the Micro SDs with adapter in my camera ever since the ejector crapped out and I couldn't remove the full-sized SD card from it. Had to send it to Canon for repairs. With the Micro SDs I leave the adapter in the camera and remove the Micro SD from it.
I have several tablets that use Micro SD cards and wonder when those ejectors are going to give it up.

What devices, other than phones, use micro-SD cards directly? Just curious.
The connectors on the adapters are much more robust than those on the micro-SD card. I’d much prefer they be the point of repeated removal than those tiny ones on the micro-SD.

I have used micro SD's in my cameras for years and never had a problem caused by the adapters. You still must ensure that the card is fast enough for your camera and your shooting purpose, and you must format the card/adapter in your camera. Oh, and take the card and adapter out of your shirt pocket before laundering the shirt. A friend told me that. Yeah - that's it.
In addition to my phones, I use micro SD cards in MP3 players, computer tablets and a music "jukebox".

Far be it for me to complain. These micro SD cards are so tiny. And they have become more affordable. It is very easy to lose or misplace them. Then how do you store 10 or 20 cards conveniently. Expect that one that has the photographs from your vacation in Barcelona getting lost! My camera writes to both cards and saves me aggravation. Keep those tiny pieces of plastic that I barely believe they hold the same amount of photos as a standard size.
(I know they do, but it is hard to believe.

For me the advantage is that I can use them in virtually any SD compatible device. My phone, my tablet, and even my MP3 player are examples. Yeah, I could have dedicated cards for each device, but I appreciate the ability to use them anywhere if needed. I also limit the memory capacity to 32 Gig to stay compatible with older devices.
