Isn’t there an extended viewfinder piece that would solve the problem. Saw one on a Fuji the other day.
I use these (eye cup) on my Fujis and all my other cameras. It also helps to block light out to get a better look thru the viewfinder.
will
I had the same problem with my X-T20 which is even smaller. I turned off the "touch screen" focus point option and that solved my problem. I can use the buttons to move my focus point while viewing and I'm no longer concerned with my face moving it on me as I raise the camera to my eye.
I have the same problem with my Z6. I wish there was a focus lock switch like the DSLRs have.
I had the same problem with the x-t30. You can turn off the touch screen and use the other controls (joy stick, etc. to manipulate the focus point. Problem solved.

Using your left eye would place your nose closer to the focus joystick than the right eye. No? What am I missing here?
Actually Pete, you’re right. I had a tooth pulled yesterday and wasn’t feeling up to par, I guess. But since none of my cameras have a joystick, I don’t have that problem anyway.
Thanks for the "sympathetic" answers fellas. I should clarify that my nose does not cause the problem when I am using the viewfinder but it is when I am getting my eye in position with the viewfinder. So I guess I need to go in more directly rather than a more sweeping approach to get positioned. Guess I am the outlier...

Mike Tyson might help you flatten your nose a bit.
Or bite it off so that it will no longer be a problem.

Finally a helpful reply. The joystick is probably a better option for setting a non-default focus point anyway.
Hmmm... You might want to try how I solved the pesky "Check engine" light in one of my cars. Small piece of duct tape to the rescue !
I had the Fuji XT2 and now have the Fuji XT3.......I have the same problem and also knocking out of position the other Dials on the Camera and the Lenses, except for the Dials with the locks...However I have had the same problems with other Brands of Cameras and Lenses...In Action Shooting like Birds in Flight I always check the settings beforehand and during, for Landscapes and General Photography, when something does not seem to be right it is usually a misplaced setting or something in the menu that I changed....

I don't remember. You can find them on Amazon or ebay by doing a search for eyecup + (name and model of camera).
