I saw a new feature announcement today. I searched and haven't seen any posts about it here yet. It is one of those things that could make you happy with your continued subscription!

This means Skylum Luminar 4 is cutting into Adobe's revenue.

I thought of that. Still, I like that Adobe has a sky thing coming. I'll have fun with it for sure.

Luminar 4 with sky replacement came out late last year. I have seen many examples of sky replacement on Flickr that really turn me off. People slap a sunset on a midday scene, and often the shadows in the image do not line up with the light source in the sky. Often the color palettes of image and sky don't match. Next you can replace your partner with your favorite actor, and the minivan with a Ferrari. And the family vacation took place at the Amalfi coast, not at the Gulf coast. So why go out to take photographs if your computer can generate them for you? Luminar 4 pushed me in the opposite direction--I decided to take a more minimalist approach to post.

That will be a very cool option. Thanks for posting.

"the color palettes of image and sky don't match." Part of the sneak peak demo in the Photoshop version shows the foreground subject changing tint with changes in sky choices.

"you can replace your partner with your favorite actor" Older versions already do that.

"the minivan with a Ferrari." My wife bought a Mercedes based camper with comfy beds in it. Two cupboards are devoted to camera gear. One of my favorite gadgets is a tripod head that clamps to the drivers window! The problem is that is is so comfy I can't seem to get out for the "golden hours". I'm looking forward to shooting at high noon and faking the golden glow. (Nobody really looks carefully at my pictures but me anyway.)

You could replace the sky in PS long time ago and I had done it a handful of times for a few clients. You had to select the sky, very difficult and delicate many times, and then you put a sky in there you had photographed before.
Time consuming difficult with trees in the background. Much easier with buildings. Now, both Luminar & PS, use AI for faster and easier selection of the sky which saves time and frustration.
Nothing new replacing the sky, just easier & faster for the average PS user.

Great software will not make up for bad post-processing. The same B.S will occur in Photoshop's sky replacement.

I am sure that you are right about this. I would just add that great software also will not make up for bad images.
