These mountains are in the southern part of our country, the peaks being modest in global terms.....!
Pen-y-Fan (the highest peak) rises 886m above sea level and happens to be the highest peak in the U.K. south of Snowdon in North Wales. The mountains in North Wales tend to be more 'rugged'.
