Very much like this set Mike - while I have seen bison around in various areas, I have never been very close to them - so thanks for the close-ups! Joe

Great collection of images Mike. The swarm of insects is unreal. vz

I appreciate that, Erik. Those insects are one of the reasons that I had the place to myself.

Great series UTMike! It looks like a tough life to be a bison.

I appreciate your visit and those generous words. Real life for them is no picnic, but it beats getting shot.

Fine & interesting set!

Thanks, QD. I do not have the interesting back yard you do, so I have to go on the road

I appreciate your kind words, Joe. Antelope Island is a good venue for close ups, although the tourist killed by one of these bison last weekend might not agree.

I appreciate your generous comments, Sylvia. Come on over and I will get the Utah contingent to give you a tour. As I mentioned to LFM, when I get such close up shots, I tend to crop too tight.

Thanks, Carol, being so close is a kick. You really understand that these are not Disney characters. We had a tourist killed by one last weekend.

After I finished at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuse, I returned home. On the way is the turn off for Antelope Island. It was too late to catch good shots of the deer and antelope on the island, I hoped to see a bison.

It turns out that very few people were there (Covid and insects), so I drove around. I spotted a bison near the work sheds and then a group near the staff quarters. My last shot is of a bison wandering in the Great Salt Lake.

Downloads are best, although they reveal that these beasts live in the rough.

Mike, an awesome set for sure. Getting up close in a DDL I could see how a robe made from the front half of the hide would be warm to maybe hot in the winter. The next to last with all the flies above his hide was excellent.
