Very circuitous route to receive medication from Ohio. Yesterday morning (Monday), the USPS site showed that the package was at my PO box. Nope - NOT there!! Late afternoon, the USPS site stated it would be “late” with delivery by 8PM last night. Tracking showed it had left the South Jersey Distribution Center and that it was on the way. Nope - still no medication at PO as of late this afternoon. Just checked tracking again, and NOW my meds are supposedly in Maryland!! and on the way to the destination. Seriously?!!?? Wonder where they’re headed to next - San Francisco, maybe? This is not the first time a package sent via USPS went on a tour of the Eastern US. It Is the first time it happened with medications, though.

Interesting. How can so many people make so many mistakes? Were this me, i would carefully check address info on delivery just to make sure it wasn't a human error on the senders part.

Ha! I have that beat.

How about USPS Flat Rate Airmail Small Package, from Green Bay, WI, to the Netherlands? Yep, first it spent 11 days at Chicago O'Hare (this is after all Guaranteed International 10 day delivery), then it left... for San Francisco. After a suitable wait, someone blew the dust off it and sent it off to Narita, Japan... Fortunately, someone in Japan owns a Globe, as it then went straight to the Netherlands.

Yes, that's right. For the trifling sum of $40, you too can have your small package circumnavigate the Earth... and it will only take a couple of months.

I swear, you can't make this s**t up, and if you did, no-one would believe you.

Maybe there is something around here that affects their thinking.

I had a package that was on time ..... until it spent almost a week in Indianapolis.

Mail delivery is getting difficult. Medication is a serious business. You should never risk delivery. I know as I’m a pharmacist. First I know that medication is expensive. And it won’t get cheaper. Second have prescriptions filled by a mail order to save money. Third, have a doctor send your prescriptions to a local pharmacy to be kept on file. If you run low and can’t get your medication on time, have your local pharmacy activate the scripts for a ten day supply and give the balance as refills.
I do this all day so patients don’t run out.

Happy Shooting!

Good for you. As a benefits manager, I was able to help my employees and their families “bridge” an unfortunate mail order delivery gap with that 10 day emergency supply. Even used it myself once when I had to stay out of town longer than I had planned for with my meds supply. So, thank you!

Also, I want to give a big shout out to pharmacists everywhere who on a daily basis help clients through the confusing Rx plan pricing maze. I’m also appreciative to pharmacists who assist with donated meds to people who wouldn’t otherwise afford or take their lifesaving meds.

I usually order my next refill as soon as soon as the insurance company allows it - hasn't been a problem so far.

I sent a package from Alabama to Florida on Aug. 5th. It took ten days just to get to the Memphis distribution center and it's still not delivered. I sent a complaint to them and the reply was the package was "this is "ground service" , ground services go by road and in not fast service , because it goes by road it wont be here for another 3 to 4 days ." I don't know anywhere in the USA it would take three weeks + to deliver a package by road. USPS is on the way out for packages.

They seem to have forgotten their purpose. Someone must have removed the "neither" from their motto : "Rain or snow or sleet or hail [or any other reason] will keep these messengers from their appointed rounds."
<sigh>

This is a long standing problem. Many years ago a business I did work for mailed me a check from their offices in NJ to my home in PA. it finally arrived three weeks later with a Wisconsin postmark. More recently " 4 years ago", I mailed a package to my ex from PA to her in Ecuador, the package visited 13 cities " some of them more than once", 7 states "again some more than once" and 5 countries including Canada and Mexico. It arrived 8 weeks later.

They're so overloaded with political junk mail that they can't think straight. I installed a small trash can right below my mailbox, and labeled it "POLITICAL JUNK MAIL". ALL political junk goes straight in there, and not into my house.
