Fujifilm vs. Kodak -- the new frontier

Kodak will be receiving a $765 million loan from the U.S. government to produce medical ingredients, including hydroxychloroquine. As a result, the stock price went up over 200% yesterday. Kodak began making drug ingredients four years ago and will now dramatically expand production at its New York and Minnesota facilities. Even so, the company estimates it will take three or four years to reach large-scale production.

At the same time, the US government will award $265 million to Fujifilm Holdings to help expand vaccine production to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Japan's Fujifilm is working on a potential Covid-19 vaccine and plans to start human trials soon, although its drug Avigan is having troubles during clinical trials.

Could this be an opportunity for Olympus? After all, it has a history of great in-body stabilization.

Just wondering, but why would the government put forth that much and include hydroxychloroquine. I believe all studies related to its use as treatment of COVID-19 has shown it is ineffective and recommendations are that it should not be used.

Original study has been withdrawn by the publication as it was flawed and wrong.

Every time they report Trump pushing that drug, they ought to remind the audience that the CEO at that drug company gave Trump a million dollar contribution in the 2016 election. This was in all the papers at the time (public record), but nobody now seems to see the connection.

As Arte Johnson used to say on "Laugh-In", "Verrryy interstiinnggg."

Apparently, your reading on this subject (HCQ) is extremely LIMITED; about 6,000 doctors have that it is working when taken along with zthromax and zink. Please do a little better research the next time. We all know that you are only taking this position for POLITICAL purposes, eh ?

Just FYI, I try to avoid making political comments unless absolutely necessary. Usually it only becomes necessary when someone makes illogical statements that indicate they would prefer to not believe the epidemiologists, scientists, virologists and research experts. Also as a retired medical practitioner, I do not rely on anecdotal findings, I prefer to trust the experts who have done the research and testing with scientific proof.

And 6,000 doctors is a very small portion of all the physicians in this country. I'll stick with the majority opinion of the medical field.

Kodak has had a presence in the chemical business for over 100 years. Eastman Chemical is now 100 years old.

I strongly suspect this is inaccurate information.

Fauci in 2005. Was he wrong then, or is he being political now?

2005 was a long time ago. A scientist like Fauci learns a lot even in just a few months.

All recent studies using double blind methods have shown that HCQ does not prevent, treat or cure COVID-19.
