There are a lot of sayings out there. I just saw this one.

It’s attributed to someone named Donald Ray Whatley:

It took Click it or Ticket to get people to wear a seat belt.

I wonder if Mask it or Casket might work?

Excellent good! My former father-in-law, who could be....difficult!....used to tuck the seat belts into the rear seat gap between the seat back and bottom in his Cadillacs. When the seat belt laws in Virginia got some teeth suddenly he and his passengers could belt up. Sometimes we can't rely on enlightened self interest, but we need to impose fines to help save lives.

If everyone - including you - wears a mask, people can go back to the fine economy we had a year ago. Universal masking is a small price to pay for a return to good times - but it has to be truly universal.

If everyone in a store is wearing a mask, and I'm ... (show quote)

The masks do a much better job protecting others from infected people with no symptoms than they do protecting the wearers from the infected people. Just like now we are concerned with Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert, a notorious non-masker who tested positive after interacting with some top administration officials, possibly infecting others before his positive test. That's just the kind of thing that's prolonging the virus and slowing down the recovery. Wearing a mask in public is something almost everybody can do to slow the virus and reopen the economy.

Only true if everyone is wearing N-95 masks, which is most certainly not the case.
By not wearing a mask, you have little protection, and you are potentially endangering everybody else.

If it was just a matter of people refusing to wear masks endangering themselves, let them take the chance. But not wearing a mask endangers others and that's not acceptable.
