Thanks for the compliment... I like your byline... I see so many wandering with their heads down texting when I am either at the zoo or out in the forest preserve... Wish they could see the beauty around them...

I appreciate your visit

I once (a few decades ago?) did a bike ride from Prospect Heights to Brookfield Zoo on my birthday. It took almost exactly 2.5 hours and I got a ride back home in someone's van after the visit - probably the support vehicle. BTW, any idea if the Des Plaines theater is still around? There was a small café' across the street where a model train brought the plates of food to the tables.

Well the wife says it looks like the choochoo restaurant is still around... Thinks the theatre is changed to something else but not sure on either.... Give google a try and get the up to date info... Next door neighbor rides to brookfield zoo and back from here once in a while... and he is beat when he gets back.... Thanks for stopping by

I looked at Google Maps streetside. ChooChoo is still going on - Des Plaines Theater just has a blank marquis (if it's the same building) and I think I saw a for lease sign on the corner of the road. I was Tom, the piper's son in the "Trial of Mother Goose" a LONG time ago (my entire dialog was "Tom, Tom, the piper's son. Stole a pig and away he run. If you should know what happens next, tune in next week on channel ten!" My parents had season tickets to the playhouse.
