Olympus Imaging being sold.
Pentax has been bought and sold several times and still exists. So, it is not necessarily the end of the road.
And neither Hoya or Ricoh did anything to enhance the product. At least they were optical oriented companies (or divisions), but Pentax today would have to be "most likely to fail" in the photo business. Despite an almost fanatical user base, Pentax attempts at new products have been disasters in the mirrorless market, the medium format 645 showed promise until the Fuji competition showed up, no full frame anything and only a few new lenses for a rapidly decreasing user base.
Why does anyone even pay any attension to Tony Northrop?
