I just downloaded Luminar 4 this morning and tried the sky replacement tool. I am impressed. Here is a before and after that I shot last weekend on a grey day with no sky at all. The first was edited in Lightroom, and the second was after using Luminar 4 as a plug-in, first try.

Looks good John

I didn't realise that Luminar had joined the forum. He is certainly clever.

That is amazing Jay especially on the first try...

You have a variety of sky options and select the one you want. Perhaps make a minor adjustment. The software has done the work.

I had a freind replace a sky for me on a sihouette. A communications tower with lots of Ironwork and supporting trellis on it (mostly empty due to fibre) and I could not find a single spot the that the sky had failed to be replaced. It's pretty good.

Looking good John. Also, there are a number of nice options under advanced features button in the sky replacement tool (sky exposure, sky temperature, etc) that can come in handy as well.

Nice work, John. I saw Linda's post and she does have a sharp eye. I would not have noticed.

Don’t you just hate those flat grey overcast skies? That is a great improvement, but I would like to see the image that Linda did to improve the lighting on the trees and foreground.

L4 is a really impressive application. I have not yet found anything else that gets close to matching it's sky replacement function. The masking is often sensational and instant. This one feature alone is worth the price for my real estate work.

Two thumbs up for the Luminar 4 Sky Replacement function - it is incredible, and also has the capability of relighting the scene to comport with the type of sky used, and many more ways to personalize and stylize your selections. No better way I have found to replace a sky, especially with treelines, than with this app.
