I just downloaded Luminar 4 this morning and tried the sky replacement tool. I am impressed. Here is a before and after that I shot last weekend on a grey day with no sky at all. The first was edited in Lightroom, and the second was after using Luminar 4 as a plug-in, first try.

Very good work, John. In many cases, sky replacement (when factoring in sun angles, shadows, etc.) is very helpful in creating the best presentation.

Very nice. Luminar is not just capable of replacing skies. Against a blue background it will use ANY file in your collection for a replacement. It seems to do a better edge blending than I can accomplish so what I have started to do is cut out my image in PS, place the image on a light blue background then I touch up with a blue brush and place my background using Luminar 4. Just a suggestion

John,
With my personal opinions aside about editing, you did a fantastic job with the sky replacement. It looks natural and not over done one bit. If you didn't mention the replacement, or had the first photo up, I wouldn't know the difference!

Good job

Amazing work at the tree line. But there is a disconnect for me between a darkish flatly lit scene and the fluffy white clouds in a bright blue sky. I've sent you an edit

L4 is a really impressive application. I have not yet found anything else that gets close to matching it's sky replacement function. The masking is often sensational and instant. This one feature alone is worth the price for my real estate work.
