Dave, I purchased a P20 back. They are no longer supported by Phase One. However, the price was very reasonable and it's proven to be a valuable addition to my medium format cameras.

Bob, which back did you end up getting? I've considered one for my 500c, but it's hard for me to justify the expense of newer ones because it's just for fun. The older options are more affordable, but seem to be rather clunky to use and may not offer benefits over new FX sensors. I've only gotten as far as an F-to-V mount adapter to use the Zeiss glass on my Nikons. Curious as to that part of your experience.

...I’m wondering about focus stacking using this technique...?

I should think it would work. One isn't changing the exposure, only the plane of focus.

I've done panoramas this way. The method that worked best for me was to do the stitching first off. Then, adjust the Exposure slider, etc., when the stack or pano is brought into ACR. I save the stitched photo as a .tif file to avoid data loss during the save. Then, open the .tif file in ACR.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Dick. This sort of gives me the best of both worlds.

Thank you very much, Dick. I hope the desire to get your darkroom set up doesn't diminish. I love lab work and the results.

I see your in AZ, we have reserved an RV spot at Casa Grande Trap & Skeet Club for Dec 1-April 1, so I'm going to be a 'snow bird' for the first time, hope to get some photography done while there, at 81 I can't clamber around in the rocks like before.
