It looks like some of you are in your own cult and have your own flavor of kool aid. There’s a remarkable resemblence.

Here is just one example of Trump lies. It is impossible to list them all; there are too many every day.

"During press questioning at the White House today, Donald Trump was asked whether his tone about the coronavirus challenge had suddenly changed.

For weeks, he’d been mocking the virus threat—at rallies, in tweets, and in press remarks.

But both yesterday and today, he’d suddenly shifted to warning that the public-health and economic problems were real, and would remain so for a long time.

What changed?

Trump denied there had been any shift in tone, and said (as you can see here):

“I have always known. This is a real pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic....

“I’ve always viewed it as very serious.”

This is a flat-out lie.

Setting the lead for many Republican politicians and for most coverage on Fox News, Trump had for many weeks pooh-poohed the idea that the virus should be taken seriously.

He has said it was “contained” and “under control”.

He has said “It’s going to disappear” and, “We have very little problem in this country”.

He said three weeks ago that the U.S. had “15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”

He tweeted just eight days ago that “The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation”"

From the CDC on the 2019-2020 Influenza season;

400,000 - 730,000 Hospitalizations
24,000- 62,000 deaths

Main Stream Media - **crickets**

Dead is dead whether its the "seasonal flu" or COVID-19 and 24,000 dead should be a national headline no matter what it was. But the "flu" just isn't as catchy or scary as COVID-19!!!

So, why the difference in reporting? Why does the news insist on the scary headlines for this bug? I guess it's hard to generate much panic (aka emotion) on something that nearly everyone has already survived over and over. Does it qualify as a "media hoax'? No, it does not. But that is not to say that the media has not ramped up the panic.

Case in point;

We NEED Ventilators!!!!! (Fredo)

oh, yeah, I got 4000 stocked in a warehouse that I haven't deployed yet (also Fredo)

I guess in some ways the media needs to do this besides improving their bottom line. I mean you have the boneheaded leadership in Louisiana that can't use whatever they got between their ears to practice social distancing instead of wild in the street social grinding parties til past dawn.

Add this incident to the list...

CNN's Jeremy Diamond began a question to Trump as follows: "I'd also like to ask you about some comments you made on Friday. You were talking about governors of different states and you said, 'I want them to be appreciative.' You also said, 'if they don't treat you right, I don't call.'" After Diamond said the words "if they don't treat you right," Trump said, "But I didn't say that." When Diamond finished the sentence, Trump said "I didn't say that" once more.

The truth is that is exactly what Trump said the day before. It is on video. How can any rational person deny it, and how can any rational person say Trump does not lie?

I think he did it because he didn’t say it.

Weren’t you just whining about being taken out of context?

You're preaching to the choir on this.

I inadvertently hit quote reply on your post. I meant it as a general statement on the curious nature of what is happening in American politics.

Yes it's true Trump shifted his view on the virus, but so did you Lefties. First you cult Leties criticized Trump for placing a ban on travel from China and called him a racist for taking that action. Then later you agreed with his move but then shifted to "Trump failed because he didnt place the ban soon enough. You Lefty cult lunatics are all over the place.

Do you understand the terms "Armchair Quarterback" or "Monday Morning Quarterback". Hindsight is 20/20. You cannot use today's information to bitch about decisions made weeks ago.

What about decisions made 4-5-6-7-8 years ago? Is it OK to complain about them?

I was not referring to the meme, but rather the reporter's questions. Snopes determined "mixed" in regard to the situation. You can quibble over words, but the meaning of Trump's statements was pretty clear -- "If you don't kiss my butt I will not treat you nicely."

What Trump has done can’t absolve or erase Obama’s screwups. While I don’t always find the ‘what about Obama’ arguments pertinent there is a definite double standard that exists
