I feel guilty even asking this question here as I have not been on UHH for some time. Unfortunately mainly due to illness and not being able to contribute. However I have a predicament and I thought only the clever folk on UHH could help. For the last 9 years every year I have made a DVD (including pics, music, audio and type or graphics) of my grand daughter's year. Photos of her at sport, school, on holidays etc, etc.
For all that time I have used a programme called Pro Show Gold by Photodex, Now while I have always found this programme a little unstable this year it is off the planet. I won't go into detail as this is already becoming a short story (sorry),
My question is of all the UHH folk out there doing the same thing I am doing what programme do you use or can you recommend? I have tried "Photo Stage Slide Show Producer by NCH" but find it slow and awkward.
Thank you sincerely for you time and take care.

Have you tried deleting PSG and reinstalling? PSG is hard to beat.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question - it's very much appreciated.
I have thought about doing that but haven't done it yet. I will give it a go.
Thanks agian - and I agree PSG is excellent when it's not having a hissy fit. Hahaha!!!
Photodex is recently Kaput, unfortunately.
I just put the finishing touches on my daughter’s wedding show an hour ago using their ProShow Producer program. Interested to see where this thread goes .
The recommended replacement program from the ProShow site is about $25/month, if I recall correctly. Some of the Photodex people started their own.
Well that's news I didn't know - thank you.
I have been thinking of trying "Producer" but if it's monthly payment too I'm not interested.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to reply, it's apprteciated.
I went on to he Photodex web sight tonight to down load Pro Show Producer only to discover that Photodex ceased operations entirely on Jan 31, 2020.
But they recommend their customer use a programme called Photopia - which has two versions. Unfortunately it looks like they are subscription only. That lets me out.
Again I thank you for your time and interest. I must say I thought I would have had a larger reply to my question than I have received. Good number of reads but only two replies.
Probably what I deserve for not being active on UHH lately.
Any way as far as I'm concerned this topic is closed and I'll continue to look for what I want.

The ProShow Producer on the computer at work is not on a subscription plan.
The program was either a download or on a CD.
As far as I know, it will continue working, but no updates ever again...which is fine so far. It works great!
Take a look at this fairly recent thread:

Cheers!
Photodex no longer supports Pro Show, they have a new subscription program available. From the initial reviews it seems to be acceptable to most and downward compatible to Pro Show. Go to their website to check it out. I had to replace my hard disk and was able to download my Pro Show Gold 9 using my authorization code with no problem. A few glitches pop up with unknown effects and not knowing where my show photos are located but those are easy fixes. All of my current shows are in their final versions and output onto thumb drives for viewing.

Interesting! How long ago was this?

Just a couple of weeks ago. When you open an existing editable show all the slides have an error on them. The program doesn’t know where they are but most all of the effects and music are OK. I deleted the blanks and browsed to where my photo files were located and put them all into the show. No more problem. But like I said, all of my shows are in final form on USB drives and I only need to create new shows.

Will have to check it out.
Thanks

Thanks
When you Google Pro Show it will take you to the site where the download is located. Just select it as if you’re buying it and enter your code #.

I have been using "Pictures To Exe" by WnSoft for several years. I started when they were on Version 4 and my current one is Version 9. Their latest upgrade is now called PTE AV Studio 10. Here's a link to their website.
