You have version 9.2. It handles the files. The word "download" has too many meaning ranging from streaming video to copying files.

You write, "I download from camera." Can you explain what you mean? Are you using a cord? Why and which one? Have you tried reading from the card directly using a card reader?

What is Lightroom 9.2 doing? Are you in the Library module? Are you in the Import dialog? Can you post a screen shot of what you see?

Do you have a viable alternative? There are lots of other software companies out there. Some of them produce useful software (according to their fans) and you can buy a perpetual license, which will work until technology advances and your OS will no longer run their software. You have the choice of using an outdated OS with your outdated software (with all the online hazards that the old OS does not address) or getting up to date.

For a small sum, less than what I spend on useless and transient impulse purchases, I have the top of the line software that is always up to date. You yourself called it "...only $10"....

You all gave me “words of wisdom” that are valid, solid and most of all very important to my problem of downloading my raw files onto LR.
Time to bite the bullet, as you say and go with the flow.
Just FYI~ live in the Smoky Mountains and since we have “no cell” availability where we live on 60 acres my husband and I have flip phones. We are not TV people so have minimal satellite programs and are happy with our lifestyle. BUT the one thing I live for is to be out in nature with my camera. SO, I must thank you ALL for the wake up call!
