I see Flicker is raising their rates for the pro membership. It is approaching the cost where it might be worthwhile moving to a different platform.

Any thoughts on an alternative to Flicker for pro type membership with unlimited upload capability.

Two that come to mind immediately are 500px and Smugmug, but I am sure there are others out there in use now.

I've been on 500px longer than Flickr. It's a different community. But relative to site capability / functionality and member involvement, Flickr is far superior.

For what its worth I just renewed Pro for two additional years at the old price after having been encouraged to renew prior to the price increase.

Smugmug will be rolling Flickr into Smugmug eventually.

Perhaps. I don't think it will happen for a while though.

Smughug bought Flicker a while ago. I got a notice around Christmas from Flicker asking for money help. My guess is that eventually they will merge into 1.

I just became a PRO member on Flickr and was disappointed to see the price increase as well. I will probably lock in for an additional year. I was wondering if any of the Nikon shooters out there use Nikon Image Space or Nikon images as an alternative? If so, how do you like it?

59 a year vs 49...when I originally joined I was at 24.00 per year until just last year after Smugbug bought Flicker.

Same here... I'm on the fence about extending my Pro subscription with the over 100% price increase since I joined. I have been with Flickr since 2005.

When Flickr lost my account, I switched to Google Photos.

Isn’t Google Photos limited to images of 16 mp and less?

Smug Mug. Unlimited. better software. Set your own URL (still hosted on Smug Mug). Really easy to use and upload to. See CaptainBobPhotos.com for an example.
