Am I right in thinking this is another one put together using your figurines? If it is, you're really getting the hang of it .

thanks hippi, that will give me something to listen to besides Within Temptation while I put a bird behind them and start the painting process!

thanks R.G., yeah, they are about 2 inches tall - something not right about them though, too much contrast on them or something, and probably should be darker towards the bottom. I am adding a bird behind them and then will try to color it and maybe I can fix some problems..

Also I took a shot of a small Juniper tree that was backlit, and turned it into all the trees by flipping it left and right and shrinking and rotating and tried to make it dimmer as it receded into background.

Looks like something from Erol Flynn's Robin Hood. You could title it "King Arthur Returns". I really like the idea of photographing figurines, I always feel like I'm cheating when I use pictures from the internet. I await your next iteration.

Did you cut it out of the original pic? I bet it would be a good candidate for a brush:

hi Linda, it was in a pot, so I set it by a window - it was later in the day so the light wasn't the same as it was on the figures, but anyway, since the background was blown out, all I had to do was use the multiply mode when I laid it down - didn't need much at all in the way of masking..

thank you for your encouragement Curmudgeon - I looked for a Hooded Robin, and could not find one, but I did Find a Tufted Titmouse!!!!! Tried to fix a few odds and ends, tried warm on the soldiers to move them more forward a little bit, and tried to make them look less metallic overall. Now I need a color scheme!!!!

yeah, I need to keep it subtle and very low saturation, but good colors can help define things for us, like the leather harness - a brown tanned perhaps - other things like a cloak can be vibrant red or blue and could play off of the back ground - fantasy yellow green perhaps.. but yeah, it can all go to hell real easy!!!
