Very sharp images. It seems you are a Sigma 105mm macro OS fan. I'm shopping around for one now!

Thank you. The image was taken with a non-OS lens but the camera was tripod mounted.

Happy imaging-cameraniac

The D600 is FX format, so cropping is not a factor (I am envious!]. Maximum aperture of 105-mm f/2.8 is bright enough for both macro focusing and sports panning (although I would prefer a zoom lens for this). Most studios use 85-mm lenses for formal FX portraiture, but if your room is long enough, you can push back with a 105-mm lens.

You cannot go wrong with a Nikkor 105D or 105G.

Sooo, Which one 105D or 105G and why ???

Nikkor 105D = A-F but no VR. Great optics, less expensive, manufactured 1990-2007.
Nikkor 105G = A-F + VR, no telescoping, current manufacture.

I find VR (aka OS) to be very helpful for hand-held field macro. My keep rate improved dramatically.

Here's a couple of images captured with the Sigma 105mm. Not positive about the second one though. It might have been shot with the Nikon 18-55 (Hundred dollar lens!).
