I have a business account with PayPal and have sold and purchased many items without any problems. It looks more like your bank is the problem not Paypal.

Has anyone had trouble with paypal. I recently sold a d610 with uhh. They have held my money for 15 days. After 14 days they released the hold. I went to walmart to get cash to find out there was another hold. Called and 1st was told they had to verify the funds? They had been in account for 14 days. I called again and this time they said when I requested cash at the store it generated a security risk. ????? Then was told it may happen again after the 72 hrs was up. Asked who could help and was told they don't know why it happens and there is no one that does. Anyone else ever have a problem with paypal. After I investigated a little there are over 8,500 complains like this at Better buisness bureau. Recommend being careful with paypal. Bryan

It has been several years since I used paypal. I stopped because I thought their "commission" for the simple task of tranferring money was exorbinant and forced seller to raise their prices to get a fair price for their items. That also seemed unfair to the buyers. Also, when I did close the account, I could not get my money until it had been in the account for a certain period. Btw, I still get emails from paypal about my "account" which is non-existent. I'd prefer to send or receive a money order or cashier's check for any items from a private citizen. I will use a credit or debit card for purchases from reputable businesses.

I have used PayPal since 2000, never had an issue. Once linked to a card and a bank account everything is seamless.
Have the buyer 'Send funds' to you then there is no fee. As soon as the funds arrive, instantly transfer it to your bank account.
Trying to get cash at Walmart raised a red flag and caused the delay.

Glad you have never had a problem. But getting money at Walmart is a standard buisness practice for them. I had a card on file and they changed the rules without informing me of change. Things got worse from there.

Link to a bank account. Transfer is quick, painless and easy.

This is what I've done for years with money I receive thru PayPal in a small business I operate. There's no charge for the transfer, and it shows up in my bank account at the end of the day after the day I order the transfer. Don't think it has ever taken longer, unless there was a Monday holiday involved.

When I first heard of PayPal it was through complaints posted by users on several websites. I finally decided to subscribe and have used PayPal with no problems for several years through eBay, etc. I set up a checking account at a small bank here in town and linked it to PayPal so my major bank accounts at other banks could not be held up if there was a problem. I use this small bank account almost exclusively for PP through which I do most of my on-line purchases.

Considering the rampant frauds I can see how Walmart would have reservations about redeeming a payment this size. I don't know how it would work if the buyer later files a dispute with PayPal, but Walmart might be caught in the middle. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to use a checking account at a bank?

I do the same thing and just put enough in it to cover PayPal and other on-line purchases. There’s never a lot of money in the account and the only problem I’ve ever had was thwarted because there wasn’t enough in it to cover what the hacker was trying to get.

I hate PayPal. They never have stood by me when I was cheated. Always had to get my credit card to reverse the charge. Recently they charged me 6% instead of the 2.9% they usually charge. the excuse was that the seller had paid in Canadian currency. That should be the buyers charge not the sellers. Ebay has really cleaned up their act. PayPal remains a truly scummy company.
