I see Sippyjug has brought up the Helicon Fb tube. I use that tube for most of my focus stacking. But a rail or manually turning the focus ring will also work. I recommend you use what you have now and buy equipment later. A fixed camera and just turning the focus ring by hand will work fine unless your subject is really small. Many have found they don't really need fancy equipment to do this technique.

Gene51 that is a stunning image.
I have a m43's camera that offers in camera focus stacking but only with their premium lenses and Focus Bracketing with any lens but this requires a third party software to do the stacking.
Do you guys and gals rec'd Helicon Focus? I see it mentioned a lot here.

Thank you fetzler, Harvey, and sippybug104 for your comments and suggestions. My needs are less demanding than most of yours as my magnification is generally much less than 1:1, and my subjects are much larger than insects. I do use a remote release, and will probably start using mirror lock-up as well.

Much like you my macro work has been mostly non-insect size - coins, flowers and such - it has been experimental work to satisfy my curiosity and too achieve one more level in photography on a shoe string/SS budget - hence the reversed "old" 75-150 lens, yes - I have tubes , bellows and other old prime lens but this one works the best for me- some times I add a tube or two to get that very deeply hidden detail- so dang satisfying in my old age.
