Unfair Denial by Forum moderator?

I have been denied access to the forum For Your Consideration. As a former teacher, professional juror, and critique coordinator, I feel I have been discriminated against, and cut off from learning from and helping many because of personal issues with the moderator. Not only that, but he will not accept my messages, nor any further discussion.

IF you are interested in this issues on UHH, I would appreciate your looking at the posts in For Your Consideration (FYC) and telling me what you think, if YOU think the objective and emotion content deserves denial of access.

As mentioned, having wide experience in critiquing, I will not be bothered by opinions different than mine. It is hard but necessary to weigh all words and try to arrive at truth.

Thats a shame Bob. I know that you have offered very useful critique of anything I have submitted. Did someone get their feelings hurt?

I hope Admin reconsiders. You are a valued contributer to FYC.

Professional critics sometimes come off as pompous, arrogant and sarcastic. Usually it's not appreciated. I've been kicked off several forums in the past when membership was dependent on going along with the mods. I have failed classes when a good grade was dependent on going along with the teacher. Life's not fair.

Get a grip.

As a former anything you have absolutely no right whatsoever. As you suggested I read a few comments. You are not willing to do anything other than take refuge behind 'your experience' and so called 'truth sayer'. This is exactly what you are doing here, in this thread.

I do not know you. I do not know how you are in real life but your digital one is fraught with 'I am right because...'. On line this simply does work.

It is all about on line perception and right now, for me, you act like a petulant child who tries to get a ridiculous support from folks who really do not care but will enjoy the head bashing. Some will support you (and will say so) other will shrug this off.

Were you doing the same thing in the sections I run I would also ban you because of the disturbance you create. Other folks appear to have complained against you - if I understood the section moderator -.

Just move on and if you like keep your 'I am the victim of a conspiracy', it seems to be popular these days.

Thank you. I THINK I try to do those things, but I know I can fool myself. Your comment encourages me to continue to learn from and give to others.

Yes, someone did get their feelings hurt. Happens a lot, as you know, usually through misinterpretation or defensiveness. What bother me is that this was done by a MODERATOR, personalizing and insisting on a narrow view, who banned me after I explained what I thought was the situation, and asking him to cite specifics to support his opinion. "Cancel" culture, I guess. A shame, because there were many talented and good people in the For Your Consideration forum.

I can't pull it up now, but in it I said I had not "insulted" someone, and repeated that I said the work was good in the category she chose to place herself in. Most importantly, I asked the moderator to cite specifically what he thought was insulting (you never can be sure of your perceived position, of course). For that I was banned.

Yes, I think that's what happened. What happens, happens, of course. But I think a person should fight unfairness until it is demonstrably futile. I think this moderator needs some schooling in moderating. The OP is definitely defensive, easily shown, and I can deal with it. After two or three attempts at objectivity I bail. But the moderator has a greater responsibility, one that I perceive as him failing. I have also seen it in his reactions (as opposed to responses) to other photographers, suggesting fixes that fit what he likes, but ignoring the poster's intent. I think he should either become more perceptive and peace-making or leave the moderating to the other two moderators.

And there you have it. Like the moderator who banned me, you are insulting instead of being objective and specific.

Here, in your own words, is the damning crux: [my posts are] "fraught with 'I am right because...'. On line this simply does work."

First of all, I never say "I am right." Next you say, flat out, that "because" (i.e., giving objective reasons that can be refuted or accepted) is bad. Really? So, I think you, too, are not a help on UHH too, as I have seen your narrow and hostile attitude. Your support of a similar moderator shows the worst part of UHH, those who get defensive and personal, then blame the person commenting. Quite ignorable or able to be dealt with otherwise, unless you bully as a moderator.

How am I insulting? By breaking a door already open? You want opinions, you have one. Take it or leave it. You take this as an insult because you want to read my answer this way. When I see folks like you who throw their 'qualifications', 'experiences' around as a justification, it is poorly received, like it or not. This is the simple truth, something you like to say is 'only yours' since disagreeing is being 'insulting'.

Perception, always perception.

Accusing of being 'insulting' is what folks on line call 'the nazi argument'.

My refutation:
You ask, "How am I insulting?" Really? Here are your opening sentences which prove that you are both insulting and defensive:
"Get a grip.
"As a former anything you have absolutely no right whatsoever."

Those words ar so unaware, off base, and defensive, that I think you are one of those with whom a reasonable discussion is impossible. Others can judge us. I am not going to bother with your irrationality and hostility any more.

"Get a grip"... You are so emotionally involved you do need to get a grip, sorry, this is a simple truth.

"As a former anything you have absolutely no right whatsoever." This is also a simple truth. Claim all you want, true ot false, it makes no difference. This is a private board with semi private sections. You are a guest, nothing else. If a guest in not welcomed, he/she gets the boot.

Once again you see this as an insult, it is not. Both statements state the truth. You want them to be insults? So be it.

Now consider this.... If you see what I said as an insult, how do you think folks in that section feel about your attitude?

At the risk or repeating myself (broken record already) perception is where everything lies.

I am almost sure that if you pm the moderator and explain - w/o your 'I have rights' or 'I am more experienced than you.' you might gain access back unless you have already burned that bridge that is.

So, in my opinion... Take a few steps back, take a deep breath and when less emotionally involved come back with a more balanced point of view.

Oh, I love the door slamming!!!!

I've never been to that section. Didn't know it existed. I opened one topic near the top of the list and read it.

It's pretty clear and obvious why the moderators banned you! Your style of creative writing is exceptionally good at putting words together that cut and wound.

I would appreciate it, and take it more to heart, if you would be specific, and show those offending words in the context of the referred to post.
