DSLR's are officially dead.

Well, he says if you are a professional, making your living from photography, then you should be using the most current, best technology out there. He also said that if you are an amateur, hobbyist, etc., then what he has to say does not really apply to you.

As I recall, and he actually shows an old clip in his new video, he hated MILC, and said so many times, but he now says mirrorless have improved so much and has so much more to offer, that his thoughts have totally changed. According to the video he sold all of his DSLR's, including his D5.

Link for the video to follow.

Beauty has so many forms, and the most beautiful thing is the confidence to go mirrorless.

I think a lot of what he says is true Paul. I remember some old film guys I knew that said no way digital is better than film. Once they saw results though, their thinking changed. Same as a lot of people said no way mirrorless would be better than a DSLR, and in the infancy of them, they weren't.

When I first saw the title of his video, I was not going to watch it. I thought it would just be another rant against DSLR's, but he surprised me, and what he said was quite true, I think. Just my thoughts.

But a lot has changed, technology advances every day. I guess though, it really comes down to personal tastes, what an individual is comfortable with, and what works best for them.

The grass is always greener when captured with a mirrorless camera.

I don't know about that saying... I'm not considering jumping to the other side myself. And if I did go mirrorless, I would not get rid of my DSLR or SLR's.

That video is 5 months old.

Jared might have changed his mind by now.

They turn to dust. Just sweep them to the curb or get your Shop-Vac.

Jared is certainly entitled to his opinion...

Just because something is over X years old it should be replaced??? WHY???
Boy, have marketers got him by the sneakers.

My truck was 21 years old when I gave it to my daughter;
My current car is 9 years old;
My cell phone is a Samsung Galaxy S-III;
My cameras are 9 and 13 years old;
My laptop is 7 years old;
My desktop is 10 years old;
...
..
.

So who made the name of the game keeping everything current?

P.S. - How old is your house?

Click on the link and see for yourself. He does a lot of real world testing.

He, like most of his ilk, has created a style in an attempt to stand out.

I do watch his videos, but not always to the end.

Bill, the link to the video I posted is only 5 days old. The video I think you are referring to... "Is the D5 the last DSLR Nikon will make"... that one is 5 months old.
