I've taken a fair number of shots in some of the old cemeteries around here. I'm always reminded of how bad the 'old days' were in reality, by the number of headstones for kids. I saw one stone at an old Presbyterian church that listed the eight children of one couple and seven of them died before they were thirty.

very well done...an respectful as well...thanks for sharing...Ed
I bought a camera at a flea market that had some badly damaged film in it. I developed it in the basement and it had some grainy, heat damaged, semi-exposed cemetery images on.
These three were all I could get off the roll.
YES!
I have spent many an hour in really old cemeteries just "communing"... reading about the person buried there... saddened when it is a young child. In the 1700-1800's there were an awful LOT of children just days old... buried next to Mothers who died in the process of childbirth.
Those cemeteries are @50 miles from me now... where I grew up and I haven't set foot back to that town since leaving in '83.
However, I intend to do some cemetery shooting this weekend closer to this area and am grateful for the thread.
Great shots so far, everyone!
I'll be back! :)
All of these shots were done with respect, which to me is important in this type of photography. I have seen so many people shoot with a large lack of respect, and to me that can be looked at in the same way as spitting on someone last resting place. Keep up the good work people.
Kind of like it here on the dark side.
