Former Notre Dame Cathedral architect Benjamin Mouton in a live broadcast April 16 on the French TV network LCI:
Interesting interview, food for thought at least.

Notre Dame architect? The cathedral was built about 800 years ago. That makes him the oldest human in history.

Well if you had bothered to watch the interview, you would have seen that there is always an architect appointed as the official architect to oversee maintenance and restoration of the cathedral, this man held that position until 2013, and the interview covers his opinion as well as conversations he has had with his successor.
So in the future you may want to look at the material before making uneducated comments.

A po-faced platitude, in a po-faced Babylon stronghold is entirely appropriate on a Sunday ... any day really.

Well I guess in your case your political agenda overpowers any ability to be objective in any subject not ordained by said agenda. I suppose that makes yours a super safe space.

I did not hear him say the blaze "was no accident," as the title of the thread suggests. He did express incredulity as to how the fire spread so quickly. His opinion was that 800 year old oak is so hard that fire propagation would be a slow event.

I wonder if that is true. Seems like ancient wood would be thoroughly dry and dessicated, and I would think therefore more flammable. But he should be more expert on that than I!

If he made the comment that he thought it no accident, I missed it. Which could be as I was listening to the French and not reading the subtitles. But his message was definitely more about just not understanding how it could have happened so fast.

What he did say is that he didn't want to make any conclusions but he found it very unusual that given the circumstances the fire spread as fast as it did. He also said that the electrical systems had been modernized with fire danger in mind.
I only read the text, I don't speak french.
