NOW is the time for a clear filter to be on hand/in place!! I don't use them in most instances but would here. Alcohol wipes wont melt/soften salt crystals.

Salt will destroy coatings.

Why don’t you use clear filters?

Finally a situation where a high quality clear filter is useful and appropriate. High quality to reduce any optical issues. However, you might want to consider a polarizing filter to reduce glare and reflections from the water depending on the conditions.

Unless you have a pretty special Best Buy, you might try B&H

For use on salt water I’d go cheap since it likely won’t last anyway.

What camera? If it is the Olympus E-M5 series or the Olympus E-M1 series with the weatherproof series lenses, it is easiest to just run it under a gently running faucet until the salt spray is gone and then towel dry.

Caution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Salt spray can get into the nooks and crannies of your lens and you will not be able to remove it. Salt spray can also inter your camera and cause an early death over time.
Do not take any photographic equipment close to salt spray. Nothing but bad results will occur.

Got it. Salt water and cameras do not mix at all. Going to pick non choppy water days to photo shoot, cover the lens with a polarized clear filter and invest in waterproof camera bags. Thank you

You could also look at a waterproof case for your camera.

There is no such thing as a polarized clear filter. Either a clear filter or a polarized filter.
