Photos shot with my Canon EOS were transferred to my PC and the photos are huge and unusable.
I’m a film guy at heart so I’m not sure what I did wrong. Previous photo transfers always worked ok.
Can anyone help out ?
Thank you.

Little more information... are you using WiFi or cable from camera to pc with EOS utility or pulling the card and reading it directly?

Define "unusable." Do you mean to email?

I will check.
The transfer was done with a cable.
The photos on the laptop screen are so big , roughly 60% of the photo takes up almost the entire screen.

Using what to view, just Windows or editing software? What is your next planned step, after viewing?

Windows.
Ultimately wanted to send these to my niece so she could post on Facebook but the photos are too large to do so.
Anyway to compress them ?
This is of the Christening of her son.

If they are JPG's Fastone Resizer will do the job fast and free, if they are RAW you need to convert them to JPG, I'd use Paint Shop Pro or Canon's own DPP to convert. Bob.

Here is FastStone's download site:

Have you emailed photos before? If they are raw, they will probably also need a bit of editing prior to converting to jpg.

Try clicking photo and then pressing "Ctrl" and repeatedly tapping "-" on your keyboard.
