Today I ordered something very inexpensive from Amazon. When I got my confirmation email from them it appears that either I or they also enrolled me in Prime at $12.99/mo. I do not buy enough from them to warrant $12.99/mo and probably never will. This is a free first month trial but I want to get out of this ASAP. How do I do that? Thanks.

Go to Your Account, Your Prime Membership, then click on End Membership and Benefits

Go to "Your Account" hit the Prime button (you will now need to reenter your password) Another dialouge box might pop up that you pass through) then go down to "Membership Management" and hit "End Membership and Benefits"

Personally, I use the membership a lot. I also love Amazon Prime Video as a major part of my cord cutting.

As long as you end it prior to the end-date, no harm no foul no charge!

If you have a smart TV, or a streaming device, check out Amazon Prime's programming offerings. Consider their pricing and such for everyday household items, too, delivered right to your door.

Imho & ymmv, of course.

They try to suck you in by offering free shipping on a small order and by clicking on that offer you are enrolling in the Prime membership. You can buy the annual membership for $100 per year, or pay monthly. You get much more bang for the buck when you pay the $100/yr. You also get movies and other video content free with your membership. You get free 2 day shipping too. But if you don't want it, just look for the hidden thing your account and click on it to cancel your membership. It should be in your profile area.

Why not call them directly and ask. That way you're talking directly to a person. We have found that they are quite helpful and willing to make corrections.

Their number is: 1-888-280-4331

Prime has a few video photography courses, too. You might check them out before you drop it.

I do a considerable amount of buying online. B&H, Adorama, eBay, Amazon and others. I live in Florida.

IMHO:

B&H offers quality merchandise, at competitive prices, orders over $39 ship for free, and no sales tax to Florida residents. They offer a free percentage "store credit" on some lenses, etc. Top-notch all the way!

Amazon offers a variety of products, which they or one of their vendors, provide. PRIME membership may or may not be a plus to you, depending on your ordering. I personally like the free 2-day delivery, the movies/videos, and music that PRIME gives me. I think PRIME membership is like $100/year. If you shop often, your shipping charges could exceed $100/year.

Also, I use my Chase/Amazon credit card for virtually all purchases. I get 3% (or so) back on every purchase, and (in my case) I have chosen to apply the credit to my Amazon account. I get hundreds of dollars a year back.

The annual price is currently $119 plus tax. Mine just renewed and was $128 and change with the tax.

I have dog food, cat litter, OTC meds, all shipped, some monthly shipment saving an additional 15%. I probably am saving $500.00 a year or more in shipping costs

I had monthly charges on credit , check card constantly, personal call always, $ 12.99/mo + $ 11. + 2x days apart for about 4 months with no explanation WHY , very dump person to deal with however I got credit. I had cancelled my Prime a month before via computer and removed my credit card number from the system but they renewed anyway. They may be great but I WILL BE careful from now on.
