He passed last night at age 94. The last President who came of age during WW2. And, IMHO, the last true statesman to hold the office.
He oversaw the crumbling of the Russian empire, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the re-unification of Germany. He also put together the international coalition to retake Kuwait from Sadam Hussein.
